@thatpinguino: If I remember correctly, long hair would sort of bounce. Judging from the short video, it looked like the long hair looked much more realistic. Also there aren't many men footballers with ponytails down to the middle of their back.

Women's soccer is the key to making the sport big in North America. For the most part soccer is as foreign as it gets, but Canada and the US have two the best women's teams in the world. This is obvious move given the state of the sport at the moment and a necessary one given recent events on the video game front.

I get what you're saying, but people have been asking for women's teams in FIFA for a while now. I do believe what EA is saying in that now is the right time because the tech allows for it. The tech was there in the past, but what they are talking about is implementing these players in a way that doesn't cripple the performance of the game.

In this GameSpot article, they mention how when they tried to implement hair physics, the game wouldn't run at a steady 60 FPS, but they were able to get it to run at 60 after tweaking it a bit.

I don't think this is a response to the movement-that-shall-not-be-named, but something they have been working on for a while, and they are now able to implement it. It is a nice coincidence though.

@rethla: I mainly play with MLS in FIFA 15, so I'm already used to playing like that. :)

I wish you could play as women's teams against men's teams. I'd love to have the US men's and women's teams play against each other. It would be a decent match.

Messed around with settings a little more last night. I am able to keep it on a pretty stable 60 FPS now, with a few dips into the mid 50s, but not more than a few frames. I have everything on the highest setting, including hairworks, except for grass density, background characters, and shadows. Those are all on high. I don't notice anything by changing those three settings, so I'm pretty happy now with how the game plays.

i5-4690K OC'ed to 4.2, 8 GB RAM, and GTX 980.

Same as @colourful_hippie; everything maxed out except hairworks off. Getting a solid 60 FPS at 1080p

Has anyone tried Hairworks with this patch yet? That was the only thing keeping me from hitting a steady 60 with graphics on all the highest settings. I'd like to turn it back on because I like how the hair on beasts bounce around. It looks awesome.

I encountered a bug where I was walking a long, the entire screen went black, then when the game came back, Geralt was underwater in an endless ocean. Luckily I had saved just before that happened, and when I re-loaded the game it was fine. But it was a weird bug. I held down the surface button for a while and never surfaced.

If you're on PC and you're performance is unstable, turn off nvidia hair effects. I am now getting a solid 60 FPS, with everything else on the highest setting. It sucks because the nvidia hair stuff looks awesome. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

I'm enjoying the game so far. I am on PC with a i5-4690K OC'ed to 4.2 ghz, and a GTX 980. I have everything set on ultra and I'm averaging around 55 FPS. I would like to get a consistent 60, but it runs smooth enough for my liking.

I played through to the Griffin hunt, which took me about three hours to get to. There is a lot of stuff to do in the game that I kept getting side tracked. As others have said, the Red Dead comparison is spot on, and just like Red Dead, I have a feeling I'll be playing this game for a long time.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the game looks incredible on ultra. One of the best looking games I've ever seen.
