I haven't vanished; just haven't used my computer since February, because my back is fucked and sitting at my desk makes it worse....

I'm not impressed by every game outlet bitching about how shady the embargo was, but adhering to it, anyway. I understand "that's how the game is played", but it looks bad if you know how miserable a title is in advance and favor "don't wanna make master Ubi mad!" over "people should be aware of this so they don't get snookered".

On the other hand, given the current status of games during review often being "iffy, but pending a day one patch to fix everything", I can also somewhat see "we didn't want to risk pissing anyone off and just assumed there would be a day one patch to fix the problems seen during the prior week".

As for "duh, they're a business". So what? I'm not on their board and I'm not an investor. Nor am I an employee. I'm a customer. A client. A fan. Their quarterly fiscals are irrelevant to me and I still want value-for-value in my transaction; not a hand full of shit with a "well, I gotta makes a profit!" and a shit-eating grin given back.

Got about 10 open slots left as of this message's timestamp. There doesn't seem to be a way to look at "last login" or "last played" on a player in the game to thin out the herd if needed later on... Once we hit 50 (I'll say so when we do), I think people should fill out GiantBombEast that @brechtiandinnertheater mentioned, above (unless there's some other one I'm not aware of?).

@goldone

Even as of Saturday, a lot of stuff just isn't even included in the game yet (like Club Competitions which you need to unlock a lot of your equipment). Co-Op has been iffy, for me. I try and get into a session and after a few minutes, it asks if I want to play by myself... eventually I give up and do that. Most stuff under Initiates seems to only half-work or not be implemented, yet.

The uPlay link may be up and down, but I'd think if you could sign into it at all, it shoudl have everything linked - unless you used a different uPlay account for one game or something? If nothing else, I'd just keep checking in on it every now and then in case it just can't pull that data up maybe...

Up to 34. Got an Ubi network error that crashed me to the console home screen on one approval though, so if you successfully submitted before this message's time stamp but aren't accepted, please try again (just one person that may have been impacted, I think).

@digitalerich: it looks like it only allows six or ten at a time to be in the queue, for some reason. I just processe it so you should have room as of this post time stamp.

We're at 21 of 50 slots. If someone successfully applied before the time of this post and you aren't already approved, please try again -- I got an Ubi network error trying to approve one person and I don't know if it added them or not... :/

Hopefully they get their online stuff working soon... I haven't had a single co-op so far... Just times out and asks me if I want to play by myself. Lame! :D

Everyone has been approved as of the time stamp on this post. I've run into lots of online error codes in unity too, so if it doesn't work, just try again later. I expect to jump on at least every day or so and will approve any new apps each time.

Have fun... With whatever exactly the clubs are... :)

Looks like 50 is the hard limit but we're only at a dozen, so shouldn't be a problem.

GB Club on PS4 is "GiantBomb".

Since I couldn't find one if the standard variations, I created one. Come join and hopefully co-op and everything else will be plentiful enough! :)

Gamer Gate is a fucking train wreck. I can't take anyone who supports it seriously. Especially since it's based on a lie.

Again with this. Can you PM me what part you think is a lie?

Read this.

The accusation was that Zoe Quinn was given favorable press coverage, specifically a review, for having a relationship with Nathan Grayson of Kotaku. Grayson wrote one story about Quinn, and it was about a failed reality show called Game Jam.

Can you now please show me where this wasn't a lie?

It is possible that I could be wrong, here. After all, I kind of just want a healthy fire to come in and burn us all away and leave nothing but a scorching pile of dust that used to be game cartridges and see the industry return making televisions and radios or palying cards or something, but . . . are you guys not maybe conflating Quinnspiracy with Gamer Gate? If I have my time line correct, GamerGate was coined in direct response to the "Gamers Are Dead" articles that everyone colluded on to post at the same time with the same content across a dozen or two sites while Quinnspiracy was the initial Zoe crap, where people either cared about the sex, cared about the ethics on the journalism side, or circled the wagons and said there was nothing to see anywhere and you are all haters?

At least, that is how I recall the unfurling of events. Then again, the stupidity came from all sides in such rapid fire that it's hard to be sure, anymore.

There's no conflating, one of those led right into the other. Go read those articles about the demise of the "gamer" demographic. They are all in direct response to what was happening with Zoe Quinn, the woman who had long been harassed for daring to call her game, Depression Quest, a game.

I think lumping it all together and leaving out the chain that links each one along the timeline leaves out a lot of important information.

I suppose it doesn't matter what I say on here, too many people believe the narrative that GamerGate is nothing more then a harassment campaign against women, and mentioning GamerGate in articles like this further reinforce this false narrative.

What has GamersGate accomplished that you are proud of? If this isn't what it's about, could you trumpet some achievements? I'll read every one. Note - I'm not asking what GamersGater is about. There's a manifesto, I know.I'm asking what it's done. Proof is in the pudding.

I would assert "absolutely nothing".

I would also assert the same about the past five years of incessant articles on every game site attacking gamers and applying the most stereotypical and offensive labels to them on a regular basis.

I dunno, I'm thinking maybe another five years of both should solve something, eh?
