WHAT THE FUCK? This game's out?! I thought this was a late 2017 or even a 2018 game. How did I completely miss this? I thought the footage we saw a while ago was for some proof of concept, early development shit. Seriously weirded out.
This news about the multi-part series seems sensible. The biggest hurdle for making an FF7 remake was that the development costs would be too high (read: revenue through sales wouldn't make the costs of the game worth it) by packing modern detail into 1990's scope. The FF7 remake was never going to happen. The FF7 remake can now happen because they don't have to rely on X sales of a $60 game to make the investment worth it. They can rely on X sales of 2 or 3 games. The impossible suddenly becomes the possible on the balance sheet. Actually, as son as I read the news I said "Oh, that's how it can realistically happen."
No split screen not only kills my excitement for this game, it lengthens the amount of time before I pick up an Xbox One: My brother and I playing Halo splitscreen together is the big draw for me.
