Slumdog Millionaire...

No, I have yet to see this amazing piece of work that is "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," but If Slumdog Millionaire does not get best picture I will be upset. Brad Pitt can have best actor I don't care, but this movie needs best picture seriously.

Much of the cinematography is great, and it definitely deserves that corresponding award too. A lot of it reminded me of City of God actually.

How do you know if this flick deserves best picture if you haven't even seen the competition?

I've seen all the Oscar Best Picture nominee's except The Reader. And I have to agree with TC, because out of the four I've seen Slumdog was the best. Benjamin Button was great too but I really hope Slumdog takes it.

Slumdog Millionaire was fantastic, it is my pick for best picture. I don't understand why The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is getting so much attention it was an average film in my opinion.

One of the best films I've ever seen, I loved it to bits. I hope it gets some Oscars, as it really deserves it, in my opinion.

Yeah, I need to see this one myself, as well as Benjamin Button.  I watched The Wrestler last night and found it very entertaining.  You should check that one out too.

Gran Tarino should get an oscar. That movie is much better than slumdog. Both are good though.

I saw Slumdog Millionare last night, I've never been so enthralled by a movie before. I haven't seen any of the other movies, but it might have taken the best movie I've ever seen award from me.

I liked it but I do think it's a bit overrated.  The cinematography and editing were great but the story was lacking, a cliche love story with far-fetched circumstances... not crazy about it.

I enjoyed Frost/Nixon a lot more, as well as Benjamin Button.

I have seen all of the movies besides the Reader (which I heard was just good, not great), and Slumdog Millionaire gets my vote. I loved every bit of it, and the cinematography, directing, design, every technical aspect was spot on. And the acting was very good too. A nice story rounded up one of the best films of the year (Wall-E and The Dark Knight are still my two favorites, sorry).

I loved Benjamin Button too. The only problem I had with it is that it was too similar to Forrest Gump (Eric Roth did both screenplays). There was a lack of originality, and Slumdog Millionaire definitely delivered originality in spades.

Milk and Frost/Nixon were also excellent, though neither is a Best Picture for me.

Also, Brad Pitt shouldn't get the acting Oscar because most of it wasn't him. A lot of it was computer-done. In terms of performance, I give it to Clint Eastwood...except he isn't nominated :(. However, then it definitely goes to Mickey Rourke. Glad to see him at top again.

I was thinking of seeing Slumdog this week, but after I saw the wrestler on friday I dont know if I can face being close to tears after a film, it's just far too embarrassing :p

Still haven't seen this one, or any of the Academy Award expectants yet! This weekend I watched Death Race on Blu-Ray. Maybe I need a shot of culture.

I've heard that Benjamin Button is not as good as its nominations suggest.  However, I've not seen it myself so I cannot give any sort of concrete evidence.  On the other hand, I've heard nothing but praise for Slumdog.  I'm also a big fan of Danny Boyle, so I'm rooting for it for Best Picture.

I've already expressed my opinions in regards to this movie on that other site, but it's definitely up there with the best of them.   I'm not sure if it deserves best picture however, the competition is rather tough this time around.

From what I've heard from my film major friend, Benjamin Button was a waste of time. I did see slumdog, however and I thought it was great. Whatever it wins is well deserved.

Excellent movie. I still need to see the rest of the nominated films before the Oscars... but unfortunately I won't. Still, I'm hoping Slumdog wins big and earns Best Picture.

Benjamin Button was great but wasn't even close to the brilliance that was Slumdog.
