I really, really don't like RDR. I forced myself through the first game, but didn't really engage with it at all, and I'm not sure I could say why. I don't normally have an issue with slow pacing or deliberate movement, but the first game just... rubbed me the wrong way & this looks like more of the same.

& that's OK. Having different opinions makes us individuals.

Really enjoyed this set of Film & 40's, there's a really obvious one yet to be done, but it's just an awkward time of year production wise... Christmas movies.

Muppets Christmas Carol

A Christmas Story

Home Alone

It's a Wonderful Life

Elf

Bad Santa

Jingle All The Way (which would be a GREAT one to do)

then you get to start some cool fights by including the likes of

Gremlins

Die Hard

Nightmare before Christmas

Leathal Weapon

@pudge: I was just thinking that I'm sick of hearing him explain how to play the game. I guess it just bugs me so much because I can't even imagine forgetting how to play this game after a scant two weeks.

But you need to remember, it's not like they play the game for an entire day, where they do a ton of missions, learn the characters, make decisions on what skills to get or not, then take a two week break.

They play for about an hour then stop for 2 weeks. I've come back to games 3-4 days later after playing it for a few hours and forget a lot of basic concepts, cos they never really had time to bed in.

Steak should have a nice brown crust on the outside, with a pink/red inside, depending on personal preference.

And yea, as a general rule steak should be rested for as long as it was cooked for.

That psi lab really needs to be using every one of its slots all the time to begin with, especially as they have about 50 soldiers that sit around doing nothing. Testing takes 10 days and you need to find one gifted soldier to finish the campaign. If you're spinning the globe with the lab not at full capacity then this series might not conclude this year.

Vinny doesn't want to bother psi-testing a squaddie because it means then they'd actually have to level him up a bunch for him to be worth taking on missions if he turns out to be psionically gifted.

But yeah, it highlights a problem they've had lately where they've been relying too much on their max level colonels to carry them through missions, and they haven't been leveling up backup units. Things are going to get really spicy if they lose their sniper or support, because I'm pretty sure their next highest sniper/support is a squaddie they've never used once. Dan pissed away several of their mid-level backups by running them to their death as a covert operative or dismissing them in the base screen, and then instead of going "oh dang, we should train up some squaddies to replace those guys" they've just been using the same colonels over and over again.

Yea, this has been my real concern over the last month or two,. All they need is for 'someone' to lose 1 or 2 of their top guys, via sloppy play or just bad luck and they're pretty screwed, due to wasting their mid guys earlier & leaning so heavily on their top level people.

@awkwardl0ser: they talked about this last time, for the amount of movies he’s made, he’s only done... 2(?) sequels. Which is really surprising.

I like Rorie, and I particularly appreciate that his taste in games covers some different territory compared to the rest of the staff (like CRPG & strategy stuff).

But is GB actually paying him? The poor man is buying bread for lunch and the second cheapest whiskey for his dog parties!

To be fair, in San Francisco that loaf of bread is probably $10. I'd hate to think what that chicken salad he go with it cost!

It’s been interesting watching this video, after watching Eurogamer’s Lets Play, with Johnny Chiodini and Aoife. The Eurogamer lot seemed to have a lot more fun, partly because they were willing to play along with the conceit
