Happened to me and it is absolutely tied to FIFA 12. I had 6000 ms points spent on my account and all of my Ultimate Team cards sold.

Really just cannot wait to see who we bring in for next season. Can't wait to see a full season of Suarez + Carroll. Been watching this page like a hawk:

I'd honestly never heard of this guy so I looked him up and found this interview http://www.original-gamer.com/?action=article&id=1019

I was with him on the idea of writing and reading your review before deciding on a score and felt like maybe he really does give honest, thoughtful scores.
But he lost me when they discussed his 10/10 score for deadly premonition. Earlier in the interview it was stated that 10/10 on destructoid's scale mean "flawless victory, as close to perfect as possible." Yet, while defending his score he says something to the effect of, "If I were reviewing it based on gameplay alone it wouldn't get a very high score". I have not played DP but that doesn't sound like a perfect game to me. It seemed like he really enjoyed the game and maybe it deserved a 7-8 based on his scale but I think he went overboard for the attention.  After reading a few more of his reviews it seems like he just takes his annoyance with games to the extreme and probably looks to give a "different" score too often.

That being said it's obviously always best to read as many reviews as you can and not worry about any single score too much.
Oh and the Witcher 2 is fucking fantastic.

Glad I've held out on buying infamous! Not sure which other game to get though. I've got LBP2 so probably Wipeout.
