My only complaints are that it's far too short, I want more! And there was no exploration percentage of completion at the end, like there is on Metroid games. I'd like to know how well I did. I ended with 30 missiles and 45 life energy.

Did you get the "true" ending? If not, then there's still some more replay value left in it for ya...

I just heard about this on another message board. So do I have to make all "bad" decision to get that ending?

Ok , I will . Thank you .

Is it on Steam ?

There is a remastered version on Steam. But the original game is freeware.

For real? That costed me 1,200 Wii Points, or $12. Oh well, I would have gladly paid twice that.

Not sure, I got it off of Wii Ware, and I've heard that there's 3DS version.

An absolute masterpiece! Fantastic gaming experience that I thought had gone the way of cartridges and wired-controllers. It looked 8-bit, it played like a 2D Metroid game (gameplay that was very reminiscent of Super Metroid), and had a sometimes quirky story. If you like Metroidvania games, then you'll ABSOLUTELY ADORE this game. I can't recommend it enough. Download it and play it!

My only complaints are that it's far too short, I want more! And there was no exploration percentage of completion at the end, like there is on Metroid games. I'd like to know how well I did. I ended with 30 missiles and 45 life energy.

Are there any sequels/prequels?

I just downloaded Neutopia on Wii Virtual Console, and I'm enjoying it a lot. The story may be as generic as it gets, but the gameplay is great and manages to capture the feel of an old Zelda game quite well.

I was wondering how Neutopia II holds up compared to the 1st game. Is it better? Did it take a turn for the worse? Or is it about the same (which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing)?

Why? Better graphics? Better design? Better story?

Thanks. :)

Anyone Use RFGeneration.com to Catalog Their Collection?

It's a great site for game collection cataloging. You will find nothing the site doesn't have listed. And it accounts for variant releases and different region releases. It keeps stats on your collection/wishlist as well. Great tools for the collector, and it's all free!

Here's my profile:

My RF Generation Profile

You have to click "View Collection" at the top of the page underneath "BurningDoom's Profile" to see a complete listing of my games.

To see my full stats, click "View Complete Stats" under the bar graphs.

Here's a sample of one my pics:

Seriously, this game was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting an inferior version of Sonic the Hedgehog since it's a 1999 handheld game (on Neo Geo Pocket Color). Instead what I got was, I daresay, nearly as good as the original Genesis Sonic games. The gameplay was fantastic, and the levels and enemies were faithful to the series. If the sound and graphics were just slightly better, then I could honestly say it was actually as good as the original Genesis Sonic games.

The game was HIGHLY inspired by Sonic the Hedghog 2 on Sega Genesis. Many of the enemies and a few of the level themes are pulled from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, they use the special stage from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and the boss battle right before the final battle with Robotnik is against Metal Sonic. But the level layouts are different, you're ARE NOT playing the same game here. And you fight Knuckles, which never happened in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

My one and only complaint, though, which was a little annoying, was the fact that when you get hit and your rings splash out of Sonic's body, it's trickier to get them back. For a second after you're hit, you simply can't pick up the rings, the game won't let you. And after that second is over, there's a very short period to get a ring before they disappear completely.

So I just got this game in the mail today, and I went to test it and dang! What a fan-freaking-tastic game! I was pleasantly surprised. The only Thunder Force game I had played previous was a demo of Thunder Force V on PS1 (which was fun as hell, and HIGH on my wantlist). I was expecting the same side-scrolling shoot-em up formula (albeit with some twists here and there) that Thunder Force V had. Instead I find a free-roaming shoot-em up. What an awesome concept! Why don't other games use this formula? The soundtrack sounds nice, at least so far it does. It doesn't sound "tingy" or use the same sounds as a lot of the Genesis games do. And it's dirt cheap to boot!

I can tell this gonna be one of my favorites. I only played it for a few minutes, but I'm sure I'll have a blast when I actually set aside some time for some real gaming time.

My only question about it is: What's with those stupid walls? How do you get past them? The only thing I could figure was to just run through it and sacrifice a ship in the process, but I know that can't be right. What am I supposed to do to get past them?

Well done! I really like the Neo Geo Pocket, although I only got to fool around with one at a friend's house once. I tried SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium and loved that game. Actually, that might've been the first real fighting game I'd ever played, shortly before Justice League: Task Force for the Genesis, which was a much worse game!

All the fighting games on the Neo Geo Pocket Color are surprisingly good. But SNK vs. Capcom was probably the best of the bunch (that I have at least).

Fighting games seem like they'd be perfect for handheld gaming with their quick pick-up-and-play gameplay style and all. But the other handhelds at the time just couldn't seem to get them right. Neo Geo Pocket Color hit the nail on the head with fighting games on a handheld, despite it only having 2 buttons (at least shoulder buttons would have been nice, though).
