Thinking about picking this up, wondering if I need to have played the first one. I've never played any Valve game and dont know anything about this universe. I tried the portal 1 demo and thought it was cool.
massive internal storage (1TB discs are down under $50 OEM in some cases),
Some problems with that are the download times. Right now to download a full 6GB game off XBL can take 2+ hours. PSN is even slower. Imagine downloading games that are way bigger, at that same speed. Plus take into consideration that some regions have bandwidth caps. I just dont think the markets are ready for that yet, not on a mass level.
Microsoft will announce before Sony does. The storage issue is starting to catch up with them unless they have something up their sleeve with these new discs they've been testing, even though I doubt the 1GB increase will solve anything. From a tech standpoint, Sony doesn't have the edge they thought they did considering the only games that really use all of the PS3's power are the Sony exclusives, so its not like Microsoft is worried about their games looking like crap compared to Sony.
I use the official Xbox wireless headset. I doubt it sucks compared to third party stuff, but it gets the job done. Been fairly durable, I've tossed it at a couple walls and never had it break.
Considering the age of both and the milage, there both over priced. Also, consider the types of cars they are. You know they've been driven hard. You don't buy cars like that and drive them nice.
I wouldn't waste your money on either. For the amount of cash you're looking to spend, you could get something newer.
