Anyways, I'm afraid I have aged out of a lot I saw. Except nominally Far Cry 6. One is I liked how they set up the trailer, and told a coherent social/political story there. I wonder if someone like Abdel el-Sisi has some general thoughts along the lines of the featured dictator. Though the despot in Far Cry 6 is a bit more front burner. Another is there is no indication with how the gameplay and such is going to be handled. Though I do get the crew's wariness. Anyway the trailer presented reflects potential relations between Ruler and subject people that goes to the beginnings of civilizations...
The Watchdogs one seemed edgy and more current (near-future), in a very recognizable country. I'll leave myself out of that here.
It's the Assassins' Creed's Vikings that puts me sideways, though I do not hold Ubisoft directly to account. It's a personal dislike for a group of extremely effective Marauders that I have read, held Europe back perhaps for 200 years, to fully recover. They were beyond brutal, stole everything, killed the men and children, and hauled the women back for wives. I do not have a romantic conception of the Vikings, though they did do some impressive things, like terrorize a huge area as much as the plague, made some good weapons, found Vinland, and were even traders of sorts in Russia.
I'm not comfortable with the Matt thing, and I am trying to sort out why. So I have made two assumptions;
One is that GB has consulted their lawyers over this. Public person(s) and all that. The other is that they (GB) know much more than I. Which I strongly believe is true. I only know Matt from Dota and Charity, and I do believe PUGB. He was decent to me once in a chat exchange.
I don't do the GB Reddit. I do not do Twitter, Face-Book, or anything of the sort. I really do not do any interactive site these days. I simply come here.
I support the fight against rapists. Those who assault, or pour on the psychological pressure that committed assholes can and do. I do not support hearsay in a pure form, but in evidence. However, I do tend to believe the accuser, and if such a serious accusation is made, it needs to be investigated. Full on.
Which brings me back to Matt....why? Well, something perhaps not brought up enough here, is physical abuse. Beating on your partner in a relationship. Worst cases end in death Seems like it should be or is more of a thing for 'public discourse'. Also there is pure Emotional abuse. And here it gets complicated. Rapists are almost always men. Physical abuse is mostly but not always men, or just men in a relationship. Emotional abuse, in a relationship between two people (I'm not designating anything beyond) can be murkier. Many times there is an asshole, but many times there is what I would call a negative, unhealthy, give and take. Two to tango
And now, as one commenter said above, it was academic that his career is ruined...
@worlddude: I do not think that is what @ape_dosmil is saying, well at least how I read the individual. What this person addressed is the mechanics, or say the politics of communication on an internet site. My pet complaint was just reading about a friend of the site, lumped in a discussion that was about rape and sexual assaults'. Turns out, it was about something 'other'. Also another post addressing @ape_dosmil even seemed to have some implied threat. Language and the approach, of 'for or against' as a blanket mentality, will always raise my hackles. I had to listened to that kind of Coercive cajoling from my Trumpian right wing ex- boss. I wish he was here right now to experience the mess of this country and it's government. Eventually he stopped calling me when I wouldn't do knee-jerk 'for or against'. Don't think though that I do not calculate probabilities when I hear of something however. I'm just not going to be yanked around by everything on social media.
As a well developed view, I rather liked @Onemanarmyy, who covered pretty decently the politics of what women find themselves when dealing with and reporting rape. That is something I will internalize.
Though I have no real comment, I enjoyed this write up. It did give me a bit better perspective that there was an actual framework dictating the various objects and such to what might be the implied dimension of the sub-conscious. Though I would deliberate whether that these inferred artifacts are put in place by culture, or hard-wired. Or both.
All I can say is that Jesse seems to be the designated head of all this. Both acted upon and an actor herself. But definitely a hierarchy since Jesse fully realizes she is The Director. Perhaps an allegory that much as we, are in our journey through events and time, are both the interactors and determinators of our own selves.
EA simply stating they are around doing things. Some decent advertisement you would normally see in focused chunks, but not really a roll-out of real future vision.
Don't think I will be in the market for a PS5 anytime soon. Perhaps when they come out with their PS5 pro, and see more games. I'm kind of old for most of those games shown today, though a few have my interest. And I have already read that Stray will come to PC, that's for my cats. Horizon hit me a bit sideways, but I liked the first one so we will see. The Demon Souls remake is the only game I am crying about. A couple of others I want to hear more about.
PS5 itself looks alright. Interested about their controller. I won't die owning it...eventually, maybe.
