I also echo Borderlands 1. It was the only Borderlands I connected with in atmosphere, gameplay, and even the story, while playing the soldier by myself.

Otherwise I would recommend Borderlands 3 for modern improvements. Plus I felt the odd stuff added around after Borderlands 2 was simply inferior in conception and game-play.

For myself I had no interest in playing either Persona 4 or deadly Premonition. Persona 4 did gain a grudging respect from me as the Endurance Run went on. Of any of the Persona series, or much modern JPRG's for that matter it's really the only one I know of I would like to watch again.

Or...play. But I would consider it creepy for me to play high schoolers at my age.

As for Deadly Premonition, I do not forget the fact how much Vinny did not seem to enjoy himself at times, say with the wall lady or just the repetition throughout the game. I did however buy the game to support Swery, because of the story, mainly. Considering it was a budget game, I thought he did take a hell of a shot at turning out a mature themed game.

From another perspective indeed.

I avoid military shooters these days, have COD. ARMA, or any others gotten into killing Palestinian soldiers I wonder? I haven't heard of it myself, but given the prevailing view of the west, it might not surprise me. Perhaps the worst of the worst, such as one of those (formally) Blackwater games. But I bet not Palestinians, but rather IS or Al-Qaeda would be the targets.

I see the game won some kind of awards, but it looks rough and even floaty. Because I am ignorant probably I will admit, I was very surprised about the musical score. It sounded more old-timey Russian propaganda type score, then what I expected to hear.

I think this game (of course) could become controversial well outsized of what I thought I saw. I wonder if game(s) will now be developed from another point of view about the real time tragedy happening in that part of the world. And create a whole new block of competing games on Steam, rather bizarre in it's own right.

I just watched a bit of it presented, and my attitude has been moved from little interest to; I do start to get it. It borrows on some of what Arkane has already done in previous games and puts it into a new rather imaginative setting. I know nothing of the story, just some of the mechanics and world, and it seems to mesh.

I'm thinking this may be a game I want.

Yes, this needs some kind of pin.

I must have seen the Bishop of Battle about 4 times in my life, including Ryan's. Yes. it was a comment of sorts of game culture at that time. At least of sorts. And it is amazing how straight culture (not sex, but prevalent mainstream) so little understands the eddies and flows of those with other viewpoints.

What really saddens me is the experience and self termination of James Dallas Egbert III.

A drag to be absolutely so lost in life.

@turtlefish: I really appreciate the perspective and your experience. And the measured tone. I appreciate honesty in reviews but I was definitely thinking worst case scenario (pun somewhat intended) after that video review. You're right, often the PC won't be under that kind of load.

I'm still on the fence about which direction to go. And feeling quite a bit like a sucker if I'm being honest.

Then my advice would be gather up the advice that seems good, and does not have you trying to make major hardware changes to your pc. Then you should get the hell away from this thread, and take some breaths. And then, sit down with your pc and play some games!

After a while, you might rationalize this into a strategy of having a machine to use while waiting GPU's to loosen from the Bit Miner market(may their machines crash and burn!) and the chip shortage ends/production catches up. May be a few years, I'm starting to think.

Make what you got serve it's purpose, especially economically. I don't think it is worth putting much into that machine that would not be better spent on your next build.

@cikame: Had nothing better then a grilled (outdoor) polish sausage about 6 months ago. The grilled hotdog wasn't too bad either, 2 months ago. Black lines charred in from preferably charcoal. Sure, kind of a America thing, but I bet you'd find them. Hopefully the better ones, cause hot dogs have a bit of a reputation about what goes in some of them.

Those hot dogs that come in tins (Vienna sausages?) are f***ing gross.

I'm of mixed mind about my backlog, particularly at Steam. I really do not like the number of games I will probably never play, primarily because of money out.

However, it has been an appreciated source of games for me, all those small dev/AA/or however you rank them. I have found pure gold in games I forgot I had, in-between big releases that I am more and more not buying. At least right away. Those other games I heard about, didn't cost too much, and I bought them on sale.

I will never clear out my backlog, that would be a joke. But I sure like what I have accumulated.

Sort of.

I haven't even bought this game yet,(on sale), but I see two quick takes, perhaps hot ones;

One is that CDPR had three tries to get The Witcher to it's most refined. And according to many views I do read of, they accomplished just that. Cyberpunk is their first stab at a whole new universe, and no, not much of what made Wither 3 great auto-carried over.

Second is the fair in my mind, criticism of the media by some posters. The media did their part in the loop with CDPR in generating and re-cycling the hype and buzz prior to Cyberpunk's release into the real world. It reminded me oddly enough of Kane and Lynches big build-up on Gamespot so many years ago, where I do believe there was even a skin of the game on the site for it's release. That doesn't seem to happen much anymore on dependable sites, I think...

But there is little to contain the media out in the aethor, when there is something a little too built up. In other words, the media could have been more careful, and less assuming it all, as an easy ride.

I remember loosing or not having saves for just about the second half of the second Infamous game. Somehow my save very near the end just disappeared or something like, and literally no saves for half the game. I never understood why, and I didn't finish that game. :(

I just did the load instead of save bit with Ion Fury, but it wasn't bad.
