I'm not stopping you from having an opinion, I'm saying your assumptions are wrong.

Ask the kids on the street who make up the bulk of the sales .. COD is COD (its a brand name) MW2 is called COD-MW2 not IW-MW2  The COD name does the selling not IW or Trey "
Obviously the name Call of Duty sells the games, but if you asked an of those 'kid's on the street' they could easily tell you that the Infinity Ward titles are far superior.  Just as Halo sells Halo, I'm sure that Halo Wars sold a few more copies thanks to the name on the box. "
I'm sorry you've gone and lost me... does that mean you agree with me that ODST will challenge MW2 and not run away to 2010 ? "
You are forgetting one thing. ODST and MW2 are coming out TWO MONTHS apart, giving people time to gain the money to buy both if they would want to purchase both.   Simply the fact that Halo 3 and CoD4 have been fighting for the number 1 spot off and on for the 360 should alone give IW the confidence to go ahead and release their game near ODST. "
I think I get what you are saying ... that ODST isn't scared of MW2 and isnt running away to 2010 and can sell nearly as much if not more than MW2 (on a single platform sadly as halo is 360 only) and that nearly as much if not more people will play it online ... and that ODST is so confident of this that they are actually releasing their game EARLIER ?  Thanks for agreeing with what I said. See, it wasnt hard was it? "
If ODST was so confident they would release it the same day as MW2, the fact they are releasing it earlier is like admitting that they think MW2 is a threat to their sales.  Also, have you ever heard of something called punctuation? Its very useful. "
OK so ODST should DELAY their game ? I think what you mean to say is .. MW2 should move up their game to match the early ODST release? Your arguement is flawed and you just failed a little more. "
Lets not forget that these are both two of Microsofts biggest titles... I have no doubt that Microsoft probably struck a deal that kept these two titles releasing at the same time. If you have two giant titles releasing at the exact same time then more people would have to choose which to buy. If they release at two different times then more people can purchase both ergo making for money and sales for MS.

First off Halo has been on the PC twice vs consoles thrice Secondly CoD has been on consoles more than on PC ... amazing eh? (think about call of duty 1 renamed as finest hour and call of duty 2/3 remade many more times as different titles)   http://www.giantbomb.com/call-of-duty/62-82/ (love Giant Bomb for this infomation. "
Call of Duty began on the PC and has since had a large following and the majority of the Call of Duty games are played mostly on the PC.  "
Then its strange that more games were made for the consoles if its mainly a Pc shooter? So says you .. why don't you get some facts to back it up like I did for my arguements. or would you like me to go off and find out that more people actually play it on consoles now ? "
If you didn't notice Call of Duty Big Red One, Finest Hour, and the other console games were not up to the same Call of Duty quality mainly because they were not made by Infinity Ward.  "
no idea never played them ... i just wanted to point out you were wrong and that there are more COD named games on consoles "
This is true, but you have to consider that a large amount of those are produced by Treyarch, not IW. Those really do not represent the true quality of the MW and what will be MW2.

" @killdave: While Halo 3 was successful game it still can not compete with Call of Duty 4 when released. One is a platform exclusive while the other is a muti-platform game and as such would sell more overtime. Plus Modern Warfare 2 is one of Activision's main staples this season as therefore it would be highly unlikly that Activision would allow the game to be delayed. "

Is Modern Warfare 2 Scaring off Competition into 2010?
Answer = no, not with games like ODST giving it a run for its money

At least make a reasonable argument after posting statements insinuating that Call of Duty is Halo's bitch "
seriously are you blind or just plain ignorant ?  What do you think i've been doing the past few posts ?  "making an arguement as to why ODST is in with a running to give MW2 competition"   sheesh ;p "
You really think that ODST is going to be that big? Its a second rate Halo game, they are nearly destroying all the assets that made the Halo Trilogy a exciting gaming experience and replacing it with a new character we know nothing about. Of course Halo fanboys everywhere will buy it (like you) but that doesn't mean its a better game. It just means the audience that follows it are pawns in a marketing scheme and are too blind to realize it.

As anyone ever considered that people might be tired of Halo? Its about as generic as space-related games with space marines get. I will admit Halo 3 was a great game and I played a lot of it with my friends, Call of Duty is going in new direction that lots of games have done, just not as well as Call of Duty has been doing it.

I know I will be crucified for this, but even the multiplayer in CoD4 was much better than Halo.

Did anyone actually think that Nazi Zombies would actually be this popular?
