Also, whatever happened to Homer from GS? I remember him kinda lasting a long while after classic GS broke up after Kane & Lynch but he wasnt mentioned in this firing round.

Homer left GameSpot a year or so ago, alongside some other old time video producers like Tyler. Said he was working freelance now when I spoke to him at E3. Seemed to be doing well.

I'm starting to think that Dan may be one of the first wave of lizardmen. I can't believe most of the things he says about his life, he can't be human...though I'm not sure why lizardmen would want to infiltrate GiantBomb.

Better question is why wouldn't anyone want to infiltrate Giant Bomb? I'm sure anyone would do it if given the chance.

It's definitely been a hell of a fun month. Great to see them back in top form.

It's been great. Felt like they'd been suffering from a drought of content a lot of time since Ryan's untimely passing, but ever since Vinny moved back East and Dan and Jason joined, they've been putting out so much stuff. It's awesome. Fantastic to see the site back in top form.

It seems like a fine deal if you buy a lot of EA games, but for me, I'm already spending $100 per year to keep PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live active. I don't need yet another subscription. I'm already content with what I'm getting.

The full game is supposed to launch sometime next month, so you're out of luck until then, unfortunately.

That The Stanley Parable demo was pretty damn amazing...

I remember playing a demo for Freedom Fighters on some PS2 demo disc a thousand times, though. Something about the way it effortlessly made strategy easy yet still really deep clicked with me. Helped that I was able to try tons of different approaches to that mission even in the demo. Probably put just as many hours into that as I did the full game.

There's no chance they'll be playing another Mario Party game.

If Dan can get them to play Mario Party once, he can get them to do it again.

@djm389: that's the problem with anominity and the distance of people using the internet. People feel like they can say whoever they want and forget they are talking about people with feelings.

Of course it's not an excuse fuck those people.

Transphobia sucks. Also losing your job sucks. As someone who dealt with layoffs in a waning industry it's no fun.

According to Jason at Kotaku, their facebook comments are more vile than their anonymous ones. Anonymity has nothing to do with how we act on the internet apparently.

A name doesn't mean consequences. There are probably a hundred guys with the same first and last name within 100 miles of where I am right now. The internet is a buffer no matter what, even on facebook people who actually know you so rarely see posts like that. The thing that makes anonymity so encouraging of poor behavior is that it offers those partaking a buffer to keep the consequences from entering their real life. They won't lose their jobs, their friends, be fined, or anything like that. It's still just people who don't know who they are seeing that crap.

True anonymity itself isn't the cause but something very much like anonymity is.

I think its the impersonal nature of Internet communication. You're not saying anything directly to someone's face, so you don't have to suffer any consequences. You can easily state your thoughts and then cut off communication permanently. Doesn't help that there's rarely any real world ramifications for Web-based harassment, either. Just makes it that much easier to get away with being awful since they know they can get away with it.
