I will post this is a couple of places because discussion on this topic is so fractured, but I think it needs to be noted that Jeff was getting the brunt of toxic corporate culture because of his role as EIC/founder/main dude. And Jeff has *never* been up for that role, the BS posturing is not for him. But the undue burden was unfortunately placed on him due to seniority/title/hierarchy.

It took a toll, but no one in the original staff or later joiners was really made for that role since they were all creative types. Maybe if they had someone to take the "business" brunt of it things would be different, but if anything I'm glad that Gerstmann doesn't have to anymore.

I think Bakalar might be able to fill that space because, as Vinny put it, he has a "certain way" of maneuvering in those spaces. I hope he can shield the staff as much as he can (and is healthy to do so) from its toxicity.

There's been a ton of great music this year, but there's one album that I keep coming back to over and over:

Indigo Prophecy

I like to best describe this game as simultaneously one of the BEST game I've ever player and one of the WORST games I've ever played.

Don't get me wrong, the game does start out with supernatural foreshadowing. And I'm aware of its conceptually-episodic-turned-to-one-release history which surely left its story threads in a knot. But the left turn which the story does takes is so sharp that it not only veers off the side of the road, it careens into the voids of time and space.

I love my time playing Indigo Prophecy with @demigodraven, but boy is it a mess.

I wanted to do 1999 mode, but here's at least a Hard mode playthrough. Also, generic categories really help out. ^^;

@kimozabi: And before someone brings out the "it's a game made in a Japan for Japanese people who are light skinned" argument, you'd be surprised how tan Japanese people can get.

@karkarov: I'm sorry, but isn't RE5 the same game that had tribal African zombie people who wore war masks, leaf skirts, carried spears, and essentially said "Ooga Booga, Ooga Booga"? That game had more problems with depictions of racial stereotypes than you're willing to admit.
