Well I do have a 360 now that my brother doesn't use his, but honestly I think it's going to RROD anytime.  It could barely handle oblivion if I remember correctly.

I don't have a pc.

Backstory.  I played vanilla FO3 way back last year in November (I think) when it first came out.  Enjoyed it and sunk at least a 50 hours into it.  Eventually sold it because (a) the bugs were really getting to me, (b) I didn't feel Bethesda was supporting the PS3 version and I felt ripped off and taken advantage of (c) I was upset that PS3 wasn't getting DLC, but then I found out a GOTY version was coming later.

Well that GOTY version is now out, and I dunno if I should buy it.  So I'm asking for your opinions.

I did some research and apparently it's bearable if you turn off auto-save and don't reload your game, always drop items back into bodies and don't use energy weapons that turn dudes into goo/piles of particles or w/e.  So the game already seems pretty much broken to me, but this doesn't even take into account the DLC.  The worst of the expansion seem to be coming from Point Lookout, with players reporting freezes every couple minutes which they claim has nothing to do with reloads or auto-saves.

Normally I wouldn't support a developer like this and you know Bethesda isn't going to do anything about these problems.  But I'm also really itching for some FO3.  So what do you think I should do? (I received a gift card from best-buy and the game is tailored for 60 dollars)

"I agree with all of those points, especially the post apocalypse one. It feels like everything has be post apocalypse now to be cool. I am so sick of it. Worst of all that scenario has bled over into other media. Has anyone seen the trailer for that upcoming movie "The Book of Eli?" That's not a book about Eli. It's Fallout 3. "

I agree except for the post-apocalyptic complaint.  Only 2 wasteland games have come out and they were completely different from one another in terms of gameplay and well, even the mood and tone of the games really.  Borderlands is funny and ridiculous and doesn't take itself seriously not to mention the weapon dropping craziness completely seperates it from its other wasteland counterpart.  I dunno how to cateogrize FO3, but it was no FO1-2 (still was a good game) which leaves me to my next point, that is hopefully the good folks at obsidian will make a decent sequel in the FO universe with New Vegas.  And I think there isn't enough information about Rage yet.

Point is, only 2 waste-land games have come out and they might as well be two completely different games.  So I don't get the hate.

Also, completely agree about the inventory management (realism) complaint.  Worse example of a developer who completely failed to recognize this point would be whoever created Far Cry 2.

It's stupid and I feel like my intelligence is insulted whenever I watch it.  I dunno who the target audience is that watches Family Guy.

"I dunno ... it smells a little bit like as if Gamespot is trying hard to restore some sympathy among core gamers with naming this underdog goty. Sure, it's a really good game but goty seems a bit much. "

I don't think so.  It was really the best game to have come out this year.  Have you played it?

On topic good for GS.  I only wish the staff here at GB also gave the game a chance.  I'm sure they would have liked it too.

No matter how I try to spin it, you're right, it's still confusing.  Which reminds me what you earlier said about the mandatory guidelines.

Oh darn.  Soo disappointed.  I was hoping .. in this game .. during like the last 45 minutes of the game, you know?

Suddenly the gamer finds out MC was Neo and then MC Neo would tag up with this bad-ass secret society of sage bums who had a secret mission from the dawn of time to pave the second coming of the perfect woman and protect the female christ from the 'living static man of destruction' and maybe a third party would be involved too .. but MC Neo would Brockness Monster all of them with his fifth wall of awesome punch kick skillllzzzz .. then the game would end and Heavy Rain would be instant AAA.

@Jeust:
I'm just voicing an argument to argue for the sake of arguing.  So I guess my argument upon PH's validity in Homecoming is based upon the connection of three points.

A) Because Alex wasn't sacrificed, the town couldn't defend itself anymore against the Old Gods of SH.  Consequently, Glen (name of the town right?) was invaded by SH's presence.

B) Speculation upon the origin of the Pyramid Head painting.  It wasn't just a random painting of some individual with a pyramid shaped head and a cloud strife sword.  PH is a symbol (an appropriate symbol) and symbol's are all pervading and always belie a deeper truth that all individuals, if familiar with the symbol and it's deeper meaning, would instantly recognize.  Symbols are never random.

C) SH takes the manifestations of a person's unconscious or the underworld or whatever you want to call it and makes it a reality.

So if C is correct, Alex saw PH because firstly, A, the town was invaded, and secondly, B, Alex would understand the symbology that PH represents(no argument here, right? He blames others for Josh's death, a unjust destiny he was born into, his parents ignoring him and preferring Josh) and so, became perceptible to his physical manifestation.
