I just got a funny physics glitch where Geralt went for an execution/finisher in slow-mo where he was supposed to chop the head of a human off while the body was falling forward on his knees. What actually happened is that the head fell on the spot but the rest of the body was propelled in the air for like 40 meters when the baseball-like motion of Geralt's sword hit him :D

So I was wondering if any of you got any other fun unintended things happening in your game to tell :)

Few hours in after doing everything in the starting area and just arrived to the first "big" area.

Story and tone wise i'm satisfied so far, i loved that a quest as random as "go free that well from a monster" turned out to be the final part of a local tragedy encompassing multiple characters from other various quests; it felt very rewarding to uncover the motives of what happened even after the task was done.

I really dislike tho the movement and the camera (especially when you need to keep using the witcher senses to highlight loot). I might go back to keyboard and mouse so at least i can toggle walk/run, it might make some things less frustrating since with the controller Geralt start sprinting around at a moment notice

Got no crashes which positively surprised me, just a few second lock when starting a gwent game.

I'm at the very beginning so still didn't, but i wanted to write a post to warn that if you're playing on pc you need to put the savefile in the proper directory for the option "import save" to show up. When i started i only had the recreate or not options and i was very confused, after moving the savefile to the right folder it suddenly appeared. I was able to confirm that it worked properly with a line of dialogue between Geralt and Vesemir shortly after about the state of the world, which was different from what was showed in the GBE playdate

@rongalaxy: Personally I thought they did a good job, they could have gone with a crappy dump of exposition by some other character and instead they clearly showed Geralt and Yennefer in an intimate setting (both are naked and the fact that she "pranks" him to the extent of sending a scorpion-monster-thingy after his privates means they know each other and she's not a one night stand, which is an entirely possible scenario with women in Geralt's life) and Ciri being trained, acting with him as a kid would do with a parent (she calls Vesemir "uncle", so it's further estabilished that she has a different connection with Geralt from the one with other witchers in Kaer Moran). Plus the conversation with Vesemir after you wake up can make it even clearer what kind of relationship was the one between Geralt and Yennefer.

I would say that estabilishing the basics of how Geralt relates to those two other characters in the first 15 minutes is a satisfactory job; like you i'm pretty sure they'll cover the nuances in the rest of the game (since it's centered around those three)

@rongalaxy: really? because that introductory nightmare made pretty clear to me that Yennefer and Geralt were lovers and he was a mentor/father figure to Ciri. Also the animated flashbacks in 2 already made abundantly clear to which lenghts Geralt would go to retreive Yennefer (and Cynthia in a late mission dialogue plainly states what the deal with the King of the Hunt comported)

I'll post the flashbacks here since they are easy to forget, they are about the time period before the first game but clearly watch them at your own risk

First game: neutral (even tho i really liked Siegfried), Triss got the child, cured the princess, played dice poker like an insane gambler :D

Second game: Aryan lives, bath+sex with Triss, chose Iorveth's path (i was extremely curious about Saskia), Stennis lives, went after Triss but spared Saskia's life (well, after she was impaled by a treetrunk), let Sile teleport , Letho lives

The first one was kinda rough but i freakin loved it. The second one i really enjoyed, but in retrospect what is left in my mind as dear memories are more specific moments in it than the overall experience (which i still liked a lot, mind you). If the creative team behind story, characters and setting is the same I have faith in them for the third one

3 Questions:

1-Did the modding community ask for this, or is just Valve/Bethesda?

2-Modding is done by amateurs in the sense that they are not covered by contracts and work laws; what happens when there are controversies between creators of a mod, assets being "stolen", ideas being copied, help gets uncredited, etc.? Is Valve going to assume the role of judge?

3-When the most succesful mods will spawn multiple clones (a la games on mobile markets; ie. Flappy Birds, Threes, etc.) is Valve going to intervene? Will they rule in favor of the "original" mod only when the same tech assets are used? Will they say anything at all?
