You've got a typo, it's "&resources=game". If you want to get platforms, remove "platforms" from field_list and add "id" to field_list. Then make a second query where you look up the platform information using that id. Like with id=12572:

http://api.giantbomb.com/game/12572/?field_list=platforms&format=xml&api_key=???

If you're using search, you're going to have to sort it yourself, but it shouldn't be that hard in any language with the right tools. Depending on the scope of this project, you may want to consider ditching search and maintaining your own database backend where you pull all your information off giantbomb every so often (probably rarely since this is mostly used for retro games instead of new releases) to keep it updated. It would let you do so much more and make you not rely on your connection to giantbomb.com.

As a side note, any particular reason you're using XML instead of JSON/JSONP? JSON is not only easier to read, but it also takes up less bytes so you'll use less bandwidth and have better response times. You can find implementations to help with whatever language you're using at http://www.json.org.

A device you hide under your clothes to smuggle water/soda/booze into events where you aren't allowed to bring in outside food (like concerts/movies/etc). Basically, it mimics a fat persons stomach and you wear it under your shirt. The exterior is some synthetic that has the same basic feel as human fat (in case you get patted down on the way in), but inside it's hollow so you can fill it with stuff. So many people are obese nowadays you'd blend right in! There would be tubes hooked up that you could fit down your sleeves, so any time you want a drink you just hold out your cup, twist the nipple knob, and enjoy your tasty beverage.

The "image search" I'm referring to is any section on the site where you click Add Image and then click Search the Site.

Issue #1:
Image search result updating causes the image gallery window to move/disappear

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click the Add Images button in the Images section of your profile, and click Search the Site.
2. Type the first few characters of a game's name in the search box that says Type to search...
3. Hover your mouse over the game to reveal the image galleries for that game.
4. Type the next character of the game's name without moving the mouse.
5. The search results will update, and the image galleries window will move to the top of the site and will hide the first gallery. This is only one way to see this bug.

The Search the Site window has to be closed to fix the image gallery's position. Also affects Internet Explorer, but I don't think it requires the window to be closed to be fixed.

Issue #2:
Users can't type the apostrophe character in the image search/Image search results don't provide an alias match for games with apostrophes

Straightforward. May have to deal with input sanitation. Wouldn't usually report something like this, but the search results usually don't provide an alias match.

Issue #3:
Image search results won't activate on the Releases section of a game if the user previously attempted to search the site while creating a release and canceled the creation of a release

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a game's page and go to the Releases section.
2. Click the Add New Release button, then the Add an Image button, and then the Search the Site button.
3. Then click Close Window, click the X, and click OK on the pop-up.
4. Repeat Step 2.
5. The image search box will now cease to function.

Also affects Internet Explorer.

I love the compactness of it, but as many others have said, can we get the option somewhere to let that nicely-sized box follow us down the page? Bonus points if you let the user pick where they want to put it.

Actually I was testing to see if you could delete your own topic if it was empty. You cannot.
