LTTP with Horizon Zero Dawn. Game just makes me feel good. Bright vistas, good music and likable characters, and really fun gameplay.

Slowly working through Witcher 3 expansions - finished Hearts of Stone (very good) and started Blood and Wine (fantastic). New area is beautiful!

I eventually listen to all episodes of both (+8-4) but I tend to get behind 3 or 4 weeks and then binge on both shows during long drives, runs or grindy game sessions. I also listen while watching baseball on TV.

Dark Souls is the better game....but play Demon Souls too. If you enjoy one you will enjoy the other. Great games.

Depends on the genre. First/Third person shooters = hard. Action games and Action RPGs and RPGs= Default. Strategy games and puzzle games = Easy.

I only play "hardest" if I love the game and I am dead set on a Platinum.

I actually liked the ending (both before and after changes). I went with the merge route. Replayed trilogy again a few years later and went merge route a second time- fit how I played the games.

Currently slowly working my way through Nioh. Combat is challenging and addictive. In a Dark Souls game I often sink 3-4 hours into a play session, but due to the level structure of Nioh I rarely put in more than an hour at a time. Normally this would not be a positive for me, but due to an unusually busy period at my household and at work this truncated daily experience has been very welcome. Good non-From game for From fans.

1. Yes. WW2 Call of Duty games led me to read several nonfiction and fiction books on the subject (Band of Brothers/ Winds of War, War and Remembrance).

2. Yes. I bought Red Dead Redemption specifically because I had just finished Lonesome Dove and it's prequels and sequels - and I was hooked on the idea of the Old West and wanted more. Ended up a top 5 game for me.

3. Future and/or Fantasy.

4. No - but I do watch a lot of historical documentaries and try to read several historical nonfiction books each year. Historical fiction is my favorite literary genre.

*I would love to see more video games where you come out of the experience more knowledgeable about the time/settings they are set in. The best historical novels accomplish this - and in some cases period tv/movies as well. Games could do better.

I really enjoyed Arcania on PS4 - music relaxed me and it just kind of sucked me in. Finished it with no regrets.

EDF games are and forever will be my jam. Still pop in 4.1 every now and again to beat a few more levels. The trophy system for this game is garbage though (If you beat the game on hard for a class - the normal completion trophy for that same class should stack. Just saying.)
