@infantpipoc: The DLC titles are all Chinese, so I can't even read what they say, but most the DLC are skins for Female Player or Priestess.

There's literally one for the male.

Missing Pulseman, James Pond, and Yo Noid :P

I wonder if we should include licensed characters like Taz or Rocko.

I used to play King of Fighters All-Stars when it started being advertised in the states. There was an issue plaguing someplayers, making a black screen at certain boss fights for certain events that gave rewards to directly power up your character. These were the only way to get these items, not even paying money can get you these items. This affected many players. I also had an older phone that made the game very laggy - frame rates would drop to single digits sometimes.

These were perfect excuses for me to quit the game, not to mention gameplay that is extremely repetitive and all about forcing the player to grind and sink money into a never ending pit.

ALL GACHA games are some variation of these mechanics, and it's a really bad idea to get invested in this. How much time and money did you spend on this that could have spent on other more substantial games or platform. It might not be much, and it may not honestly hurt your wallet, but it adds up over time and could have gone towards something more fufilling, instead of just making arbitrary numbers go up.

If you're not playing any other Gacha games, see it as a blessing in disguise.

I'm glad you mentioned the importance of Runes. I remember Jeff commenting on a podcast about the Runes not feeling significant enough. They may not exactly be the blockbuster game changers you see of skills in other games, but the Runes are are secretely HUGE tools for your survivability. After I watched one streamer play the game practically like Unreal Tournament/Quake III with endless bunny hopping, I equipped the rune that that improves the Slayer's air control and saw a dramatic difference in my survival when I jumped nearly every second.

Meanwhile, I saw another streamer have extreme difficulty playing a Slayer gate by only jumping to collect items and reposition and never used the flame belch. He failed several times, but got closer and closer before finally winning, impressively. By the way, he a person who claims he's not great at shooters to begin with, but he was doing well enough to get better and better, and I felt if he used the tools he had at hand he would have had less frustration. Though, he and many other players tried to play this like Doom 2016/classic Doom which honestly doesn't quite work for Eternal because enemy attack are alot more sudden, faster, longer in range, and higher damage. It ALMOST feels cheap at time and it's near impossible to avoid significant damage without both CONSTANT proper moevement AND use of your tools - factors you didn't need so much in Doom 2016.

I wish there was a way to tell these players that lowering the difficulty or playing differently will help them tremendously, but saying that to people almost always sounds like an insult regardless of your intention so you're better of saying nothing, else you try to make a lengthy comment that they don't read anyways.

I completely get why fans of the previous game don't like the changes. I absolutely loathed DOOM 3 (see my Ranking of Doom List here) and certain changes to a game's design feels like a change to its soul. Doom Eternal on the surface looks quite similar to 2016, but it is definitely a different experience despite being a direct sequel.

And if anybody cares to ask me which of the two I like better, I love both of them. If we want to get granular, then 2016 is a 10 and Eternal is a 9, or maybe a 9 and 8. Or maybe a 9 and a 9 for different reasons.

Eh Forget it. They're both awesome in their own ways.

@admiral_crunch: You MAY have played Maximum Doom, which was a set of 1000+ Levels that came with Master Levels in the 90s. I would imagine those would have a bunch of strange, unfinished, and even poorly made maps (I think i read that somewhere)

The Master levels are more profesionally built and feel like they could be extra maps from DOOM II. The problem is the way you have to go about solving things that will leave you stuck, confused, and/or struggling with ammo. Black Tower and Titan Manor are infamously confusing and disliked among players.

I saw an animation on Youtube featuring Doomguy walking into a game store to buy Animal Crossing followed by an Animal Crossing character buying Doom Eternal. Guess 3.20.20 is becoming a bit of a meme.

Also, it's still much better than the trap crap they put the most recent trailer

Oh nice, my review got featured. I wasn't quite expecting that, but it isn't the first time. :)

I also added the wiki page edit about Forsaken Remastered.

I made a HUGE addition to Street Fighting Man . I'm waiting for it to be approved. Once it is, I can make wiki edits with out approvals. This going to sound silly, but the reason why I made the edit is because of a question on the Giant Bombcast where an emailer spoke about games with Nunchucks and I remembered it in Street Fighting Man, which had a mostly empty page. I used a combination of my memory from when I was a child and playing the game on a web emulator as I wrote the page.
