I haven't looked through the thread enough to see if anyone posted this but I was suddenly reminded of it:

Good luck to the next journey, really is an end of an era.

1: Genshin Impact. Gacha as hell with certain aspects of the game, but the game itself is damn fun to play. Been playing at least 30m a day since launch, usually 1-3 hours if I'm not too tired during the weekday, longer on the weekends. Recently got Team 2 up and running enough to kill open world stuff fairly easily, and that combination of characters is extremely fun. Just unlocked level 80 ascensions, but need to go farm some bosses for materials before I can push anyone past 70.

2: Command and Conquer: Remastered. They fucking nailed the music, and made that music player just so damn good. Rest of the 2 games are rad as well. Hope they do a second Remaster for Tiberium Sun / Firestorm and Red Alert 2 / Yuri's Revenge. But seriously that music player. Holy shit.

3: Iron Harvest. Company of Heroes but what with Dieselpunk Mechs and Shit. It's awesome. You get a fucking bear in the campaign. Go get 'em, Wojtek!

4: Watch Dogs: Legion. It's pretty fun, I like fucking around with hacking random shit. Also the story made me decide to recruit people with guns and just start murdering the gang assholes every mission that involved them, because fuck those people. Also only kind of the only other game I've played that released this year.

Edit: Oh yeah, 5: Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Forgot about that, my first AC game. Pretty fun and calming game.

Guessing Cyberpunk 2077 will be in there somewhere once that releases.

Well I just got Crusader Kings 3 and Control for Steam.

...and subsequently dived back into a fully modded, freshly installed Skyrim SE instead of those two, because I fucking hate myself and money, apparently.

Spoilers: Skyrim is still Skyrim, and it's great.

I am absolutely going to play CK3...soon. This week. Maybe. Oh god send help.

Also I've been playing Mass for the Dead for like 3 months now. It is hella Gatcha and I'm not entirely sure if I'd still be playing it if it wasn't Overlord, but fun to pop open and play for 30ish minutes now and then. Got a couple of good teams and it's fun to run the various missions.

It's less a certain enemy and more any game that has something chase you, and you can't fight back.

I don't play many horror games for that reason, aside from the fact that jumpscares are dumb and I hate them. Creeping horror is great even if it makes me feel terrible.

For instance, take the STALKER series. Lots of horrorshow, jumpscare bullshit and terrifying enemies. But I can shoot them. A Bloodsucker appearing in the only doorway out of a building and mauling you is terrifying, but then I get the chance to empty several, unnecessary magazines into it's face and subsequent corpse. Subnautica is on the edge of that train of thought, and while I haven't played a ton of it, you can get methods to kill things somewhat more easily eventually.

And this is more of a complaint but I can't stand games that make darkness pitch black. It's less scary and more just... it's not fun to stare at a black screen for 10 minutes. Or however long it takes, it's just annoying, and I will jack up that gamma/brightness if I get the chance. One of the reasons I fell off of DayZ back when that was just a mod. It's essentially like just turning off your screen.

Halo, but Cortana is voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait.

That's pretty good, but my initial thought, as cliche as it may be, was Gilbert Gottfried.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, easily. It's a funny, a well realized world with very well done action sequences and excellent serious moments. Just all around an endlessly re-watchable show for me. That one episodes ending where Let It All Out starts playing and Ed punches through that door? Amazing. Apparently, the creator hadn't put that in the manga and loved it when she saw it. Just, overall such an incredible show.

A close second would be Overlord just because it's just such a great, ridiculous power fantasy coupled with how to run an organization/country by a person who is way in over his head. It's also hilarious and averts a fair amount of tropes. Also everyone except 3 members of the main sides' cast are straight-up evil, actual monsters, and I love it.

Playing more Stellaris since Federations dropped a bit ago and mods have updated. It's more Stellaris. Time has no meaning in that game. I do not know how long I've played it.

Also jumped back into Guild Wars 2 after spending a solid hour fixing my custom playlists for it, since I upgraded computers and moved all my songs to an external and all the links in the playlist files broke. Been around 2-ish years since I last played and it's still a fantastic game to get lost in and relax. Listening to Lindsey Stirling play the hell out of a violin while running around during the day, or listening to the Halo ODST soundtrack at night is just... pleasant.

Those are my two main ones for right now, but I have played a few others sporadically. Some more Battletech because mechs are still rad. The Command and Conquer Remastered bundle is great but makes me just want Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 remastered that much more. C&C 1 is a bit rough to play, Red Alert is a bit better, but Tiberian Sun and RA2 is where C&C got it's soul from, at least to me.

And of course the Isle of Armor is dropping today for Sword and Shield so that'll be sure to eat up my time.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is my first in the series and whenever I open it up I somehow lose about 4 hours of time, so I assume it's pretty good. Very adorable in just about everything it does. I've also been playing Borderlands 3 occasionally since that dropped on Steam.

But mostly I've been playing Total Warhammer 2. Oh boy, I've been playing a lot of Total Warhammer 2. There are 2 campaigns: Vortex (a Total Warhammer 2 specific Story campaign) and Mortal Empires (a sandbox, all factions from games 1 and 2, take over the world type of campaign).

Currently running a Vampire Coast, Ghost Opera Singer Lady named Cylostra, Vortex campaign. Taking occasional breaks for a Tomb King's Mortal Empires campaign, because High Queen Khalida is awesome and Tomb Kings are my favorite faction (and I've already finished a Vortex campaign with her). I also finished a Skaven (Clan Skyre) Vortex campaign recently, which was dope.

Every Tomb King battle can be summarized as "Throw Skeletons At Them", and if that doesn't work? More Skeletons. Drown the enemy in those clanky bois. What if I lose an entire stack of skeletons, you ask? Well you have literally zero expenditure on armies as the Tomb Kings so just make some more goddamn skeletons until the enemy dies via calcium overload. And then later on you can build those cool fuckin' buildings that let you make some goddamn Murder Sphinxes, animal headed statues that have giant scimitars or greatbows (that can take down fucking walls and towers), snakelike naga cavalry (some that spit acid from short range), titanic eye-laser cat statues and robot scorpions, giants made out of bone that shoot telephone pole-sized ghost arrows and artillery that fires the souls of your enemies at also your enemy. Also their standard catapult is called the Screaming Skull Catapult. Tomb Kings are the best. They also have chariots and more regular cavalry but I've never been great at microing them.

Meanwhile, Clan Skyre has fucking nukes, so that's a plus. Vampire Coast is also a heavy ranged faction, but they just use regular ass blackpowder guns and it's also awesome. Learning to put your melee in chevron formations so your gunners can just fire down the entire length of an enemy melee unit is so rewarding. Also Queen Bess is a fuckoff huge cannon that fires like 4 explosive barrels strapped to each other. Also x2: Necrofex Colossus. It's a walking zombie pirate ship that fires a triple barrel cannon from it's arm.

I have been playing far too much Total Warhammer 2.

Also this was the trailer for the Tomb Kings. We do not serve, we RULE!

Cyberpunk was hilarious and great and real dumb, but easily my "specific game related" highlight. Halo is my favorite everything, essentially, but that trailer felt like some kind of tech demo or... something, and did absolutely nothing for me, which makes me a bit sad. If it was a reveal trailer, it would've been great.

Forza Horizon 4: Legos was silly and I need to get back into that.

All I remember from the Gears segment was the Terminator which was amusing. The Star Wars game reminds me of Force Unleashed, which I loved, so I'm hoping it's good. That Elden Ring trailer was cool.

The Game Pass / Ultimate thing was awesome and I've already made that switch. Probably my favorite non-specific game related highlight.

I just want them to show me some actual Halo-ing.

Been playing Pokemon games since the first generation, and I am fucking pumped for it. I was smiling through that entire video. I was always going to be all-in on this just like every other Pokemon game, but this made me very happy.

Also yeah Dynamax is totally just a gimmick but it's hilarious and ridiculous and I love it. I saw a picture someone drew of a Wailord bursting out of the stadium and it was fantastic.
