The new Minecraft launcher is now available to download and install following the release of snapshot 21w44a.
Mojang's iconic video game remains very popular. The good thing is that Java Edition of the Xbox Game Pass has joined for November. This month is especially good for Microsoft loyalists, as Forza Horizon 5 (and GTA San Andreas Remastered) are joining the subscription service's library.

How to download the latest Minecraft launcher
The new Minecraft launcher can only be downloaded on Windows 10 after the May 2019 update, or Windows 11.
It's completely free, and you can get it from the Microsoft store. All it does is allow you to launch the base game, Java Edition, and Dungeons from the same place.
There are some caveats to be aware of. Story Mode is not available via the launcher since it's no more supported. Education Edition is also unavailable and must be downloaded.
How to install a Minecraft launcher
Mojang advises that you install the new Minecraft launcher onto your C: Drive.
You do not need to delete or uninstall the old version for this newer one. If you have an older version of the software, you can simply upgrade via prompt or go to settings.
If you are unsure whether you have the Unified version or the new Windows version, open Settings and select About. Check out Mojang's official FAQ for more information.
