TMNT 3: the Manhattan Project, Mario RPG, Looney Toons B-Ball and various other NES and SNES games take me back to my friends house where we'd just play games and have Green Day, Weird Al or the Dangerous Minds soundtrack playing in the background.
I voted F-Zero but my heart belongs to Diddy Kong Racing. I'm not a fan of Rare's platformers but the system of level progression fit just right in that style of racing game. You also had to use and be good at each of the 3 styles of vehicles and there were plenty of secrets to find.
But the real world of Microsoft owns Rare makes seeing this game just a dream.
I'm excited about this, I noticed the lack of analog sticks as well but I'll live. I'll admit I'm a complete sucker for these classic mini consoles and will probably get my preorder as soon as it pops up over here.
I know they can't fill it with only JRPGs but a part of me wants to see Breath of Fire III on there. It was my first PS game I bought after I got a PS for Christmas and I have fond memories of playing that game.
I'm trying to think of what other games that will be announced but a majority of my gaming on that console was JRPGs.
@haneybd87: Oh dang that's right! The NES has detachable controllers huh? Yeah Famicom Mini doesn't even have that, also the cables are Japanese house sized and short so I gotta pull the device closer to where I sit so I don't fry my eyeballs sitting 2 ft. away from my TV.
The Famicom is looking more and more like a neat decoration and I feel I gotta start looking for a way to get an NES Mini now.
Probably shoulda got the Shonen Jump edition Gold Famicom Mini instead. The games are garbage but it won't matter if it's sitting on my shelf with my amiibo. :P
So I bought a Famicom Mini yesterday and man the controller is SMALL like, smaller than Switch controller small. I understand why cuz the Famicom was designed to be able to store the controllers on the side of the console and we gotta keep the original design and all I guess. It's playable but it feels like it's some novelty I'm supposed to prop up on my shelf as decoration that just happens to be functional and the function is not the focus of the product. I do not have this problem with the Super Famicom Classic cuz the controller is the same size as the regular console.
What I want to know is, is the NES Classic that's released in the US like the SNES/SFC Classic in that the controller is the original size or is it mini as well?
@nutter: 1994 was when we first got cable at my place. My dad took me to rated-R movies all the time, no problem but apparently MTV didn't teach anything so was off limits? I never really understood where he was coming from but yeah.
