Yeah, I basically agree. The Bombcast is great, but listening to any episode more than a month old is probably going to be a bit odd.
Maybe you could try listening to some other podcasts. A few suggestions: Out of the Game, The Adam Carolla Podcast, /Filmcast, The Moth Podcast, This American Life
@jakob187: So basically you're saying that it should be the equivalent of getting fireworks at the end of a level in Super Mario Bros. Yeah I can see that.
Should it be a key combo, finishing a level with full health, delivering the final blow in the level as a shoryuken, or something else?

I'm still not 100% clear on the situation, but I'm thinking that maybe once you save your data under a patched version of the game that the data might no longer load under an unpatched version of the game...just update the game.
I watched pretty consistently up to episode 60 or so, but my viewing has been spotty since then. Watching the endurance run requires quite a lot of endurance itself.
Someone should throw together a list of the "must-view" episodes and/or maybe a "Best Moments of the P4:ER" video with clips of the ER's greatest moments.
