@freshbandito: @razielcuts: You guys seem to be waaaayyyy behind on Rifftrax. I know ya'll talked about this awhile ago in this thread but Rifftrax does riff full movies, still. They do it live (via a feed across a lot of movie theaters and in person live if you happen to be where-ever they actually broadcast from) and they sell many full movies with riffs on their site these days- they even have a netflix like system where you can download the riffed movie or you can stream it from their site. For the most part they are pretty great and I recommend them (especially Birdemic but they have other great ones too). They do get the license or whatever in order to sell these. For old bad movies I suspect getting the license isn't that hard (especially public domain)- although I have heard/read stories of some being a real bitch about it. Birdemic, just from interviews I've seen with the actors, it seems like they know the only way the movie would make money is if they let people make fun of it, so getting the license may not have been difficult. It's a shame Tommy Wiseau outlook isn't the same with The Room.

Anyway, just wanted to say that- as it seems around here a lot of people see Rifftrax as this cute thing those guy from the last 5 seasons of MST3K do, but its so much more than that now (it kinda was that at first, but it seems they actually make money from the site now and they tend to release full riffed movies on a regular basis).

Speaking of which... they are doing a nation-wide live show this Thursday. Everyone should go see it: http://www.rifftrax.com/

Their live shows are the best!

Why the fuck is this guy so divisive? I just don't get it.

This is how he became popular to begin with. He had a World of Warcraft Podcast where he essentially spewed vile hatred of the game that he was dedicating hours per week in covering. He revels in controversy, even if it's created by himself. He is the master of clickbait.

There is a reason people were upset when Dark Souls for PC was locked at 30fps. 60fps, or even 120fps provides a significantly better experience if you have the hardware to back it up.

@chiablo: But they look uglier, they're blue, the same price and probably worse sound quality because they are older.

The blue is very elegant in person; the pictures online don't do it justice. It's a very muted, matte dark blue, almost purple. Unless you're looking dead on, or in a bright room, you wouldn't even be able to tell it's blue.

If all you care about is style, this is probably more up your alley. And what does age have to do with quality? Sennheiser hasn't touched the their HD650 in 10 years, and it's still considered one of the best headphones you can buy.

If you want a mixture of quality and bass, get some open ear headphones, and pair it with a dedicated subwoofer.

@chiablo: You have both? Ok, which is the most bassy? I will be playing lots of Battlefield 4 so I want some deep bass.

In my experience, open-ear headphones are not bassy at all; if you want bass, you want close ear. The ATH-700X has significantly more thump than the HD595's.

@ragesaul: I have the closed-ear version of those Audio-Technica headphones. The ATH-A700X. They do not slip down at all, and the flexible band on the top makes these incredibly comfortable. I can wear them all day, where my Sennheiser HD595's give me a headache after a few hours.

I highly recommend the Audio-Technicas, and a desk mic. Depending on your need, you could get a cheap mic for now, then upgrade to the blue later.

The only game I feel has benefitted from Early Access is Don't Starve. The developers.created new content every week and even released really cool trailers showing off upcoming content. I would play it for a few hours and quit in frustration, but every time I saw a new content trailer, I'd dive right back in.

Now we've got games in early access that barely feel like games. They're in the most early stage of alpha and buggy as hell.

I would at least like to see games that are functionally playable, but adding content that is significant enough to make me want to continue playing. I'm not paying you money to be a beta tester for your buggy game.
