I've always wondered how violently the internet would react if a publisher decided to try to push up the base price of one of their games. If you take inflation into account, games are significantly cheaper now than in the NES days. Maybe if they promised to keep updating the game for free or something?
I think Atlus and Activision are getting there. Seems like CoD games $5 more than the standard price and all Atlus RPGs are $10 more than the standard. At least with these games you can wait a few months for a lowered price.

Also Nintendo had a stage presence at E3 2014 and 2015 for their Smash Bros. Tournament and Nintendo World Championship event. I think they will use the stage this year for NX.
I wish I could get excited for The Witness, but the minute people start talking about cutting up construction paper and keeping detailed logs in a notebook, you've lost me. I just want to play a video game.
I guess this just depends on if it's easier for you to think about puzzles with or without props.
