Who cares, people who give money to kickstarter are utter morons. They "invest" in a company, taking all the risk without having a single share for potentially reaping the rewards. It's a loan at no interest, if the game is never release or unplayable it's essentially a donation, a donation to a cause that doesn't deserve it.

Dark and Demon's Souls isn't hard but punishing, there is no place for mistakes and the margin of error is so small it leaves almost no window for experimenting and learning. Once you learn an encounter though you find out that nothing requires incredible timing, reaction speed or patience, everything can be a walk in the park as a pyromancer, a sorcerer, a dexterity build or strenght build. New Games + will require more patience and avoidance to deal with the extra health, but nothing so difficult that it can only be done by muscle memory. I've died less playing Dark and Demon's Souls than in a single dark world level of Super Meat Boy.

Those stories are great, but this game has close to no gameplay at all and is the most boring game on the market by miles. Like many said before, it's nothing more than a spreadsheet with graphics.

Nintendo has been going down since the N64, the Wii was a lucky break that just pushed the innevitable one generation further down the road.

If you want to play old games own that console, otherwise you leave yourself open for exploitation because you are left with no alternative but Sony's monopoly.

Most of the people generating hits and ad revenues on Youtube are people doing "Quick Looks" and I doubt those qualify as fair use work as they are not transformative. Sure Youtube shouldn't enforce laws without due process and content owners recognize those videos is good for the industry, but ultimately Youtubers have to realize that earning a living from Youtube is like working as an employee, they have a boss and if they want to control their content they'll have to start their own website, by themselves or as a community.

Is it really self-publishing? Or is Michael Transaction behind all this?

@chose: There are some relatively decent pro-piracy arguments. This is not one of them. You damage your cause, sir.

My cause? I don't have a cause.

People argue that piracy is detrimental, I disagree. Microsoft is happy to update legit and illegitimate copy of Windows, somehow they seem to know something everyone else fail to recognize: they would rather let people use their software for free, and have the OS everyone is accustomed to, know and talk about, than not use it at all.

How much people would have subscribed to AMC or HBO for the one or two shows they like if it hadn't been for piracy? Did those corporation lost money to piracy, is it that black and white, or maybe it's grey and piracy brought a popularity that outweighs the losses? Without piracy would Starcraft had been a national sport in Korea, and birthed e-sport.

There are many things computers and the internet democratized, and piracy is one of those form of democratization, albeit not the most elegant. And before people dismiss it altogether as a problem, they should recognized that it even contributed to what Giant Bomb is, I've listened to enough podcasts to know Jeff and Brad didn't visit BBS solely for the social aspect, and a lot of video game programmers did too. A substantial amount of people who participated in the creation of Call of Duty copied Doom from a friend and not everyone at CD Projekt who played Diablo 1 paid for it, so people should think twice before painting piracy as the worst evil in video games. It might have more value than they ever thought.

People who complain about piracy are sad people. If you don't want people copying your digital information, stop selling digital information. If there was a machine that could replicate any car aesthetically and mechanically, everyone would build themselves a Ferrari and no one would have a problem with it because you'd still have to buy all of the materials, but copying digital information is free and that's somehow a problem. The beauty with ideas (information) is, you can claim ownership as much as you want, but once it's out there, I can do whatever the fuck I want with it.

If you want to control your work, you'll have to actually control your work and force people to play your game at "game theaters", but once you sell your service remotely to multiple people simultaneously for an easy buck, don't pretend your greed is anything less than my greed. And by way, between pirates and CD Projekt RED, who is making money out of other people's [previous] work? You iterate, I pirate, deal with it.

The developer's greed leads to them doing actual work and making something that we would not enjoy otherwise. Your greed just makes you a lazy thieving piece of trash.

That's said, I like my Steam DRM, to be able to have a service I can go to download my game again. I was hoping for that same feeling on the xbox one. Oh well.

I know I'm not producing anything of value, but greed and corporatism is hurting the industry, not me. The reason you couldn't enjoy a Rare game on Xbox and X360 is not piracy. And don't call me a lazy thieving piece of trash when statistically it is most likely that some of your friends and family have pirated Windows, Office, music or movies on their computer. That said, next time you want to call someone else a piece of trash look at your avatar would you?
