It certainly was a choice for Sony to go ahead with this ‘showcase’, at least there’s still no need to spend big bucks on a next gen console.

The higher ups don't care about premium subs , it's all about sponsorships, so expect to see a lot more of this.(I haven't actually watched it yet so have no opinion either way if this is good or bad)
