This was unfortunately inevitable. I can't think of any startups that were funded by millionaires who have no idea how to make games that lasted more than a couple years, and that's simply because it takes that long to burn through all the money.

Have there been any startups in the last 5 or 10 years that started with millions that ended up being successful and are still around? I guess there must be at least one?

I hope Rich updates his resume.

The videos look worse and streaming is broken. Also they play in low-res regardless if you pick HD, so you have to change the setting every time to 720. So, no, I do not like the new video player.

I agree with Jeff that the only real parts of the show that shine are the exclusive trailers that they show. However, I find it utterly bizarre that the best part of the show are advertisements that they air during the actual show, instead of during the normal slotted commercial breaks. I guess if they didn't do that, it would be more obvious that the VGAs are completely devoid of any kind of substance, other than the industry embarrassing juvenile skits and jokes.

Jeff is also right that most award shows are unwatchable, but they at least attempt to show a little bit of class and genuine appreciation for the artists they are honoring. The VGAs seem to be almost aggressively spiteful of games and their creators.

Not sure why this is news. Shortly after the ID aquiring, Todd Howard came out and said that they will not be using ID Tech 5, and that they are creating a new engine for their next project.

You know that price includes taxes and whatnot.  We have lower taxes in America, and our store prices don't include the sales tax.  That gets added at the register.  I don't know what your taxes are and how much it would cost you without taxes, so I can't give a direct comparison.  I am just saying that you shouldn't compare our price without tax with your price including tax. "
Was not aware of that, I've never been to America myself. So it'll be in the range of $65-$80 in reality? "
No, subscriptions to services like XBox Live are not taxed in America, so it'll be $59.99 total. "
Erm, that's actually wrong... log onto your xbox, renew your membership, and tell me what the price is. Yeah, they charge tax.  If you buy the cards on amazon you can get around it, but that's because TECHNICALLY you are supposed to itemize it on your taxes later. Yeah, right. Amazon is pretty much magic. "
You are correct in that it says, upon check out "plus applicable taxes." However, on my credit card statement, MS only charges me 49.99, and no taxes. I guess there are no applicable taxes for me!
