" I'm in the same situation at the moment. Started with Modern Warfare 2, then as soon as I bought God Of War 3 that's when my PS3 Decided to call it quits. Since my warranty was up at the time it would've cost me $120 just to renew it and I didn't have that type of cash. Best thing I can tell you is that if your warranty is still in effect just ship it to Sony or if you have to tools, you could try to clean the lens yourself, tried myself but I didn't have the right screwdriver to open the disc-drive so I could,t really tell you if it would work or not, also keep in mind that by doing that it'll void your warranty. And if your warrany is up and you can't/don't want to clean the lens you could always just buy a new one. "
Yeah, I think my warranty is up... or just about to be. I'm thinking of cracking it open and cleaning the lens, or maybe reformatting it? I'm really not sure how reformatting it would help the drive, but I don't have the money for another PS3, and am willing to try just about anything.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem... So here's how it went down:

Earlier today I was playing Valkyria Chronicles when the game just froze. This usually doesn't happen to me, but I didn't think much of it. I was able to go out into the XMB and quit the game from there. It wasn't until later today that I went to play some more, and the disc wasn't showing up in the XMB. I've restarted it, and not only will it not read games, but it won't read CDs, DVDs, or Blu-Rays  either! D:

I've had it for almost two years, and have never had this problem before.

Any idea on what I should do? I'm on the verge of tears here...

Personally, I hate auto save! I know Uncharted isn't an RPG, but when I was playing through it trying to get all the stupid treasures, I realized I missed one, and couldn't go back because the game had already saved it itself! So the only way I can get it is by playing through the game a fourth time -_-

Now when it comes to boss battles in JRPGs, I hate that they can use "Death". I think it's the cheapest spell ever. It's like.. well you're probably gonna end up beating me, soooo I'm just gonna kill you immediately! Ha! And there's nothing you can do about it! This is something that really pissed me off in FFXIII. Grrr.

^My thoughts exactly.
When I play games, I want to play the game, not flail around my living room, or trick my eyes into thinking stuff is coming at my face.

When it first launched, I had a bunch of my friends messaging me to go into Home to talk, etc. And i was like... "wtf is Home?!"
And I actually liked it. It was a nice way to hang out with PSN friends if you weren't playing games or whatever.

I haven't been on in months though /:

More girls are like this than not.  If anything, girls in High School are more interested in someone's social status than their appearance.  That, and the allure of someone's looks as the main attraction drops significantly halfway through college and beyond. "
Good point. Although in high school, I realized that most guys who were "hot" were arrogant assholes, and ignored them. I guess it's also because in high school, I was a very ugly insecure girl, and got to experience lots of asshole-ish-ness firsthand. Also, girls/women realize that as they get older, their list of potential mates shortens, therefore they have to find a guy who's looks aren't the priority.
