Although I haven't played a space 4X game myself, I can understand that sense of fatigue. The past few years feel like a group of people in a room said "You know what? Space! It's in this season!"
I would like to try a 4X space game some day though, and I would love a proper Civ VI (V is the only one I've played so far and Beyond Earth doesn't look like what I want out of those types of games)
Still need to play Invisible Inc. Never heard of Thea, but that idea sounds rad.
@clagnaught: I'd figured that it was time to take the series out to the woodshed, with a rifle or possibly a large bucket of water. Y'know, tell the kids that Metal Gear Scanlon V has gone to live on a farm far away?
Quitting just doesn't seem very 'Dan', however. ;)
Especially how Dan seems to be the only person who absolutely loves "the thing" about the ending.
I don't see Drew quitting now, but the despair he had sure was interesting.
I haven't been following Metal Gear Scanlon V--I only tuned in for the first episode and then watched a few random clips when it looked like Drew would encounter Quiet, Paz, or The Jeep Ride--but I watched the ending to see how Drew would react...
The teaser for Chapter Two surprised me a little. I guess Drew isn't liking this game as much as the others, but I didn't expect everybody to sound so screwed when it came to unlocking everything. Yes, the process is never explained. Yes, Chapter Two has a ton of problems with unlocking missions. Yes, this section of the game forward is at least 50% a mess. Still, the gang talking about what are we going to do still caught me off guard. I assumed Drew would soldier on.
