Just wanted to wish Ben well in their future endeavors. Listening to the Aftermath last week and all of the GOTY Deliberations this week was bittersweet.

I do have a some catching up to do in Going Rogue, which will be a nice send off.

For veggies, you can roast them in an oven or toaster oven. Just need a little bit of oil (as in enough to like a teaspoon to a tablespoon), some seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic, ginger are basically what I use, but you could use whatever), and let them cook. All you have to do is toss them halfway through.

It will make them taste better than raw, it’s easy to do (just put them and and take them out), don’t have to worry about stove tops, etc.

A basic meal I’ve done lately is roast vegetables like carrots, broccoli, and asparagus until they’re done (25-ish minutes with my toaster oven, but yours may vary depending on the oven you’re using, temperature, etc.), then I put in some shrimp to warm them up (8-ish minutes). Very little prep involved since it’s just washing vegetables and preparing the shrimp, putting something in an oven and taking it out when it’s ready. There’s some time due to the baking, but most of it you can be doing other stuff. For the veggies, I would often put them in, start watching a 30 minute show, flip them at the halfway point, and take them out when the show was over.

  • Control: With all the features turned all the way up on PC that game is just gorgeous.
  • RE Engine Games like Resident Evil 2 / Resident Evil 3 / Devil May Cry 5: With DMC in particular, there were some cut scenes that made me think, "How are you guys doing this" when I was playing this on my PS4.
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake: It doesn't maintain this quality throughout the entire game, but when that game is at its best it's amazing.
  • The Last of Us Part II: Hey, that game also looks real good.

In terms of actual, mind blowing plot twist, it would by default be one of those crazy visual novels that have bonkers stories, like Zero Escape (generally the nature of what's been going on), Danganronpa (similar to Zero Escape, but primarily with every one of those endings), or 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (everything...like way too much to possibly mention here).

My favorite twist is probably NieR: Automata with the multiple routes. Basically finishing the Route A and realizing there's more story when you swap from 2B and start playing through the game again as 9S, and then when you finish Route B and immediately get that teaser for Route C and D, which shows way more stuff you haven't seen before. It's probably one of my favorite, "Oh...There's a lot more to this game than I realized" moments in recent years that also pays off really well.

I knew exactly what this was when I saw the forum title. This is a great video. I randomly think about Vinny tapping the guitar at around 2:15 to this day.

Likewise, no idea what circumstances lead to this or who Gian is. Maybe this was a random PAX thing?

Yakuza 0 is probably the perfect pitch for what this franchise is and it has no baggage since it is the first game chronologically.

Yakuza Like A Dragon on the other hand is devoid of most of the story stuff also since the main character is a new character.

Either would be a fine intro. That said Yakuza 0 is more meat and potatoes. It’s arguably less ambitious than Like A Dragon, but it nails what it’s going for exceptionally well. (I think Like A Dragon is great also, but it misses more than 0) Unless you hate beat em ups or something, I would play 0.

Pretty sure the PS4 didn't launch with themes, so I'm sure they will get there.

Didn't realize New Years happened, because I was playing Yakuza: Like A Dragon all night long.
