Good to see Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage at a strong 397th.

The comment on 1080p / 60 sounds like more of a Series S problem or just dealing with games that only run at 30 fps. Everything I play is 60 fps and above 1080p, like performance modes that run at 1440p.

In terms of why, I work at a computer all day. I even have a work from home area and a personal computer setup, but it's still a desk with a keyboard. I just want to sit down on a couch and be comfortable. Also, the couch is too far away from the TV, so I'm not going to move the PC there or run an HDMI cable down the hall.

The PS5 could in theory be more powerful, but it's powerful enough for what it does, and it only costs $500. Also, I'm still rocking a 1080 GTX. I wanted to build a new computer like last year, but, you know, the supply chain.

At this rate, Stranger of Paradise is going to spiral out of control and somehow become the greatest game ever made.

Keep in mind the deal isn’t done and Activision still has to act like an independent company. If Diablo 4 is done before then, they will release it on everything even if Microsoft wants it to be an exclusive. They will still want whatever 2022’s Call of Duty to sell a billion dollars, and they’ll have to try their hardest to meet that goal.

If they wanted stuff on Game Pass before the deal closes, they would have to cut a separate deal, give Activision even more money, to get those games on that service. So it could theoretically happen, but it would be unrelated to the acquisition.

I was warming up to Game Pass because it seems to be a good service and word on the street is everyone is getting paid / not really ripped off, but this puts a bad taste in my mouth again.

They should just buy Capcom, Square Enix, Sega, EA, UbiSoft, and Nintendo and just get it over with.

All of this seems neat. I’m curious if the Hitman Trilogy will have a smaller file size than downloading all three games individually. The way the import works on consoles is a solution, but would be nice for a more streamlined thing.

Fire Emblem Three Houses has pretty great voice acting across the board. In the school, there’s maybe 35 or so main characters and they are all pretty distinct and memorable in my opinion. Some are more generic (like the protagonist, but they are also supposed to be a husk, so oddly appropriate with how they are bland), however, all told that game has solid voice acting.

They should voice Zelda, make her the playable character.

Glad to hear you liked Grandia II. I caught some of your late game archives, but wasn’t sure what you thought of it overall. There are other better playing RPGs, but on paper, that battle system is still on of my favorites.

I am intrigued by this idea. I think shorter games is the way to go and 2 weeks seems about right. If it were a month, that would give people more time to finish a game. At the same time, if it was longer than 2 weeks, the time between games may be too long for people to remember or long enough there is less pressure on the deadline, which could mean people pushing stuff off.

I'm not sure how much this divide still happens, but it would be good to pick games that are both on PC and Xbox to avoid any platform issues. (I don't have an Xbox and have only used PC Game Pass, or whatever its called)

My first 3D console was an N64 and the feeling I remember was that "This is how games look now". I don't remember having my mind blown with anything and the only games I remember looking bad were just bad games, like Superman 64. I think when I saw some PS1 games for the first time, like one of the Crash Bandicoot games or Metal Gear Solid, I remember thinking those look grungy.

I don't think I was really impressed by 3D games graphically until the PS2 / Xbox.
