I don't believe for a second the kid didn't believe he was spending real money, unless he's a complete idiot. When I was 12, although quite a while before Xbox Live, I knew that buying a game = cost money. As for the father, it's clear he probably feels like a tool, hence passing the blame on.

@Shirogane: That's because Uematsu didn't do the music for FFX-2, hence why it sounds nothing like traditional FF music - shame though, I really enjoyed a lot of the music from FFX-2.
I may as well throw my purse at Square Enix now. There, just take my money.
We've had periods of humidity in the UK rather than heat, so it's felt so horrible - but we've also had flooding thanks to a month's worth of rain over a few days so we've got another version of hell.
