@dudeglove: You think they'd do the whole "bad FMV game" thing again? I guess Contradiction is a bit of a different beast than what they were riffing on a few years ago, though...
@jadegl: I actually didn't know those VHS tapes existed and I totally forgot about that 2006 DVD set. The DVD set I own is from 2004 (this one. I think the 2006 set comes in a blue box.) and doesn't have the original theatrical versions of the films. While I love the quality of Blu-Ray I think I would rather try and find a copy of that box set from 2006. Honestly I'd take the crappy Laser Disk quality to have those movies in their original forms. And with that set you'd get the -for lack of a better term- Remastered editions as well. Variety!
@ezekiel: If they do release the original cuts of the first three films they'll have to be the Laser Disk versions. I think those of the only ones left at this point, unfortunately. Not the best quality by a long shot. I just want to watch Return of the Jedi without the ridiculous dance scene.
If true, I don't get how you can be so unsentimental that you would destroy the objects of your life's work. He says he had the idea since before 1971. Those prints would be special to me regardless of whether I was embarrassed of them or not. Did he throw them in a fire after he was done altering them? It makes no sense to me.
I agree. But George Lucas seems like a man who had a vision, and if the re-edits are what he believed met his vision so be it, even if those re-edits totally discredit a bunch of amazing practical effects work that had to be done on those films. All I know is that I prefer the original cuts, and would love for them to come out on Blu-Ray regardless of quality.

@starvinggamer: I was under the impression that that was true as well, since she doesn't get transported to the other time physically. It's more like Stiens;Gate, where the person's mind is transported back but not their physical body. I don't think we're going to be seeing Rachel Amber alive in this series.
@treetrunk:So does that confirm it's Rachel's body or is it a Red Herring? I wonder. Really sucks that it's going to take so long for Episode 5.
What are people's thoughts on the possibility that Jefferson can also influence time? It could explain how quickly he got from the party to the Junkyard. Since Chloe and Max left while he was giving his speech, it's unlikely he could have made it there before them conventionally.
@artelinarose: Fair point. Maybe Nathan is just a patsy for Jefferson and his father? I'm not willing to write off the involvement of the Prescotts just yet.
@ntm: After you drop the paint on Victoria in episode 1 you get two choices: be mean or be nice. I chose to be mean. If you make that choice you take a picture of her and tell her to "go fuck her selfie". Pretty good at the time but it's probably going to come back to bite me in the butt because she wouldn't believe a word I said.
@artelinarose: I really like your theory. It makes Jefferson the sole villain, and makes a character we've all learned to hate a sympathetic one (something they're already doing in this episode with all the letters from Nathan's dad). Either way the Prescotts are still involved pretty heavily, since it's their barn the Dark Room is hidden in, and their money that paid for all the equipment. It still leaves questions about Rachel, however.
@milkman: I think the kinda bad writing adds to the game's charm. It reminds me of a student film, in some ways. Not perfect but still engaging as all hell.
