Video Games I bought in 2010 released in 2010.

List items

  • The best video game I played this year. Silky smooth gameplay in a very polished game with memorable characters. Having the opportunity to play it on the Xbox 360 and my PC, they both shine bright. Anyone with the opportunity should play this game even if you missed the first. My personal Game of the Year.

  • Read Dead Redemption quickly became my favorite sandbox game I've ever played. It surpassed all my expectations. The story, gorgeous vistas and the overall mood of being a badass western anti-hero at the end of an era brought me much joy.

  • I just bought this game and after a slow start, it shot up my list. We've all read the reviews and know how it reminds you of many different games thrown together in one package, but all this doesn't matter in the least when the game works at such a high level on its own.

  • Slow down... let's take it easy while learning about creatures of the sea and a few above ground. It played like an underwater adventure game with some RPG elements. You complete the adventure, but also get to buy equipment and take on many jobs related to underwater activity. I spent 30 hours playing this game and loved every minute.

  • Call me nostalgic, but I had to play this game. So much fun, but also a whole lot different than the original. Is that a bad thing? Of course not, GoldenEye 007 for the Wii felt fresh but retained that feeling of playing a video game from our past. 007 difficulty mode made my day. I didn't buy it for the splitscreen multiplayer or online, so no thoughts on that.

  • I had a good time with this game, but in the end, I thought the original was better. Could a game be too polished for its own good? I don't know. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was refined in such a way that I felt it had no soul.

  • True View on the Wii brings first person virtual golfing to a whole new level. I'm not sure where EA goes from here with next year's installment for the Wii, especially with what the PS3 Move might be able to do with True View in 2011. Next year should be a very interesting year for the virtual golfing fan. What about Kinect support? No word yet.

  • Poor, poor S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, technical problems with my PC have only given me around two hours of play. I own it, so one day I'll get to play it the way it should be played.
