@crusader8463: If it's anything like Dawn of War 2 (and it will be), the unlock system will be very compellingand actually make a difference to the strategy you use to approach combat.

They aren't showing a lot because the game is in pre-alpha (at least).  Any which way there should be pleanty of variety in types of weapon you can use.  The Space Marines have by far the best weapons in the universe.

" You are paying for p2p.  You think MS will give up milking people for crap and calling it good service?  Fat chance.  I'm sure they like money.  Consider this.  The popular PC game Team Fortress 2 has dedicated server support (well over 5000 active last time I checked and that was in the dead hours), cross game chat, team speak, mod support, a support team that actually respond to emails in less than a day, and all this for the grand total of... free.  It's all about standards, some companies would rather peddle mediocre for a ridiculous price shit while people who don't know any better gobble it up like rabid pigs at the trough.  I just wouldn't tolerate spending another god damn £35 on 12 months of a bland service that I could use to buy 3500 1p sweets (damn inflation). "

hmm released in 2007...so...your telling me all those servers will be there, the support team...ect in 2-3 years?  they specially wont be up once team fortress 3 is released at somepoint. but hey thats one game...we can say the same for all pc games right? you mean we can't? they all dont stay open? often closing down in 2-3 years? hmm really? Please don't act like PC games, and online PC gaming are all that you are just trading a completely different set of problems for another...oh and dedicated servers? they have lag...dedicated servers do not remove lag, they dont make it like a lan, and dedicated servers give player advantage much like host advantage..physically close to the server, better equipment all give you an advantage so your just trading one problem for another.  and please stop using the idiotic p2p name, Its client server model, there is no such thing as p2p gaming unless you mean person to person direct connection like it used to be with the old baud modems. I have problems with lag sometimes...but I would have the same thing with a dedicated server, unless I sat my ass on a dedicated server all the time.  lets hope that dedicated server never goes down. "
Firstly, yes.  The servers will be there in considerable numbers for at least the next 10 years.  Have you heard of a game called Counterstrike?  Yeah.  It's those guys.  And Steam isn't going anywhere anytime soon, either, so support will remain constant.  The next Team Fortress is a matter of at least a decade off.  Xbox Live will die off sooner than this game will.

Dedicated servers do not remove lag for the user.  Local play still has some lag.  However the option of entering the lowest ping server is there for you at any time should you really care for it.  You could argue that matchmaking is an issue, but I have played on both PC and console games with matchmaking and I really feel it never really makes a difference.  If you face someone better you get better or get busy dying.  Matchmaking just slows the process down in favour of creating a consistancies with perpetual stats (something I really couldn't care for).

Talking as someone who actually knows what Steam is I believe I have at the very least refuted your rebuttal, while clearin up your misconceptions about what a dedicated server actually does.

God damn this game really hogs my system.  It truely is a sight to behold, though.  You can tell where that extra year or two in development went with all the PhysX (*drools*) and lighting.

The way I look at it is you are doing anything wrong for owning the copy.  The top tier suppliers/distributers are the opus of the chain.

I've bought 14 CDs recently, I've copied about 6.  The ones I took gave me the feeling to go out and buy their other stuff.  Hell I see buying 2nd hand CDs as no different from piracy, no money for the artist = no point paying.

I can't see Jamie Foxx as Lynch.  The guy is not only black but he's not scruffy enough to be Lynch.  They created one image in the game (trailer park hillbilly) and expect us to move on to another image with a snap of the fingers.  I don't think Bruce Willis is a good fit for Kane, either.  Again he's too likable and hero-looking.  K&L are not nice people.

What are you, 13?  Doesn't matter.  Bros before hos.  You should come to a mutual agreement with lots of arm wrestling and chest thumping.  Yep that's what real men do when there's a problem.

I'd like it if my firends gave a shit about video games.  Alas, they do not.

But good on anyone who does have gamer pals to do the vidya with.  I think it's a little silly when companies like Activision speak out against it in favour of Battlenet 2.0.  Why destroy a culture you helped, in part, to create?
