What I Played This Week 2.13.2011

So this week was a pretty easy week. Seems like most of the gaming was centered around one game to a huge margin, and for reason I’m okay with that. I’m not going to start with that game, just because I like suspense. (This is where you pretend like you don’t know what game I’m talking about) Also, in better news. my gamerscore just hit about 43k. Not a ton for some of you chievo whores, but good for me.

Monopoly Streets

Yep, still rocking this incredibly casual, but really addicting game. I mean, mostly I just play at my girlfriends, since it’s her game, but she decided to surprise me for an (early) Valentine’s Day gift and grab me my own copy. Which is sort of awesome, because every once in awhile I have a craving to play it, but I can’t because I didn’t have mine. But on to the game. A.) I found a way to play that has nothing to do with winning, and it’s sort of awesome. It’s also a secret, but still awesome. B.) Fuck these kids online. We were playing, and of course, they were trading with each other to help each other out, and sort of fucked us over. And if that wasn’t enough, I’m pretty sure they had some sort of magic power, because I landed on their one hotel-ed set of properties every single fucking time around the board, and not once did they land on my 20+ properties, and especially not the two sets with hotels. So yeah, can’t prove it, might just be bitter. Pretty sure they were cheating. Who cheats at Monopoly, really?

Mass Effect 2

Speaking of awesome Valentine’s day gifts. My girlfriend picked this up for me as well, mainly because I’ve been bitching about how much I’ve missed it since I’ve traded it in. Regardless. I haven’t actually played it (again) yet, short of popping it in to make sure my Cerberus code was still good before I gave my new one away. I really just wanted to point out how awesome my girlfriend is, really.

Halo: Reach

Yep, I caved and bought the legendary edition. It was only 60$ brand new, and I’ve really wanted it for a long time. So, now I have this fucking awesome Noble team statue in my room, and my roommates still trying to figure out what it is, I think. Regardless, I jumped in and knocked out a bit of the “new maps” I still haven’t played. My girlfriend, however, pridefully went 0-0-19 in her first online match. Good news is, she finally figured out how to walk and look around at the same time, so she’s getting better.

On a side note. I have a completely sealed copy of the Reach limited edition (The one that came with the Legendary, since I already owned the Limited). My girlfriend didn’t want it. I might be trying to sell it, but if I can’t get any biters, there may be a giveaway or something.

Other Things Before I Get To The Game I Spent All Week With

I bought a PS2. Hell yeah nostalgia value motherfuckers. Don’t have any games for it, but looking forward to re-diving into Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. and maybe even my PS1 copy of Wild Arms if I can find it.

Dead Space 2

Yep, this is the game I spent all week with. All fucking week with. However, I have emerged victorious. Dead Space 2 has been bested, using only the plasma cutter. Why I put myself through that, I have no idea. But I have this strange sense of pride now that it’s done, and that makes me feel good. So it was worth it. But seriously, that game really ramped it up on difficulty in the last few levels. It was hard. My lack of ammo and health probably didn’t help anything though. For those of you who have played/beaten it, I went into the last boss battle with exactly 8 shots in my plasma cutter and one small heath pack. Messing up was not an option. And after like 29472482 tries, the whole dorm heard my excitement at victory. Pretty fucked up ending though

Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutants

What, you thought my blog was over after the big news? Hell no. So, for those of you who don’t know, my gamertag has the word Crash in it, due to my obsession with the original Crash Bandicoot game for the PS1. So, I found this game cheap (and I got to use university money instead of real money) so I bought it. It’s...not the Crash Bandicoot I remember. Which is sort of sad, but no matter how horrible this game is, there’s something drawing me to it, and I just can’t place it. I was gonna stop after level 1 to write this blog, but I’m just finishing level four. And I can’t seem to put it down for more than a paragraph.

Alright, that’s all from me this week. Hope you enjoyed. As always, comments, concerns, and criticisms are welcome and of course appreciated. Seriously, they make me feel special. Thanks.
