I just finished it. Didn't catch all of the bugsnax but I finished all the sidequests.

It was ...fine? My main issue is that the tools are kind of cumbersome to use at times. Especially that tripwire, and the latter half of the game seems to rely on it super hard. That cake boss fight was just frustrating, I felt like I had to just spam it and hope I didn't set myself on fire/get hit with ice balls.

I liked the twist, it wasn't unexpected per se but it was a good way to tie up the body horror-esque themes. All of my people survived, so I'm interested in seeing what a bad ending looks like (especially one where they all die, if that's possible).

The previous video (Lockdown 2020: Freespace 2) ended mid-video and an episode of Burgle My Bananas started with no poll a couple minutes ago.

In the past couple of weeks or so, the chat running on Infinite has been exhibiting bizarre behavior. Namely, the whole chat has occasionally frozen for several seconds, and when it returns, some messages can be duplicated up to 30 times in the chat itself (as can be seen in the image -- this was from one initial message as chat froze for a moment). People connecting to chat during this period of time don't retrieve any chat messages, and nobody can send any during this time.

This reliably happens if the automod has not been activated in "a while" (I can't give a specific timeframe, it is at least a couple hours or so) and someone writes a banned word. However, this has also happened seemingly out of the blue as of late -- the included image was not caused by automod activating. This has been occurring more often in the last few weeks than it had before, in my anecdotal experience. We also had a few periods in the last week or so when the chat seemingly went down for a few minutes at a time, much like the above but on a much longer scale.

I unfortunately don't have much more information. I will see if I can capture anything from debug tools on my end next time I see it happen.

OS: Windows 10

Browser: Google Chrome Version 81.0.4044.129

Extensions: Replicable with no extensions enabled.

Description: If the main stream URL (https://www.giantbomb.com/chat/) gets # postfixed to it (https://www.giantbomb.com/chat/#) after certain actions are taken, the popout chat page (https://www.giantbomb.com/chat/#/popout) is an identical copy of the stream page.

(I have some extensions enabled in the screenshot but have tested this without any of them enabled)

Steps to replicate: Go to https://www.giantbomb.com/chat/ while stream is active. Click on reply button to any user's post. In the chat composition box, cancel the reply by clicking the x next to a user's name. This appends # to the URL, making the URL https://www.giantbomb.com/chat/#. Clicking POPOUT from this screen opens https://www.giantbomb.com/chat/#/popout, which is identical to the main chat page.

This isn't a major bug in the grand scheme of things, but it took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out why this was happening.

I’ve only played the first two levels at this point. My biggest gripe is that they seem to have built off Doom 2016’s narrative in the worst ways.

Having cutscenes be third person gives it this completely different vibe. Take the opening intro cutscene, for instance. It’s trying to mirror the iconic shotgun cock that kicked off the first game, but it feels like a pale imitation of that moment. Seeing a dude put on his helmet and cock a shotgun before cutting away is not exciting. Seeing YOURSELF suit up and cock a shotgun and seamlessly transitioning into gameplay — that gets you pumped. YOU are the Doom Slayer, and the only way you should be experiencing this story is first person, in my opinion.

I also think this game needs a Hayden or someone similar in your ear. Vega is okay, but it lacks those little bits of exposition. Everything seems to mostly be in the codex entries now, as opposed to Hayden adding small bits of backstory here and there throughout the first game. I guess this is too early to really criticize, we will see whether this changes later.

I think a lot of the combat changes were really smart (I LOVE the blood punch, since I was always glory killing anyways), and in general the game itself plays good. It feels pretentious to be knocking the game on narrative presentation so hard, but it’s missing that tone 2016 just absolutely nailed. Guess we will see how the rest of the campaign goes.
