@ramone: @planetfunksquad: I already mentioned the misleading marketing that essentially swept the console versions under the rug. Yes those specific console players were mislead into thinking that performance on any console might be similar to the footage CDPR put out of the half step machines.
Go ahead and use dramatic language like scammed or fleeced even so that CDPR is forced to accommodate refunds.
What I’m taking about is the way Ben was talking about the situation in terms that sounded like ALL players of this game were fleeced. CDPR did show off PC/next-gen/half-step console footage and all the reviewers explicitly stated they received PC review codes. All of that informed my decision to keep my preorder.
I didn’t feel scammed but sure in today’s world of absolutes and hyperbolic rhetoric apparently there is zero room for nuance anymore. Ridiculous.
Wtf is Ben on about with his wide generalizations of people playing Cyberpunk essentially being fleeced for playing it? And passing off that shit as facts? The only thing that approachs what he's claiming is the misleading ad campaign for the horrible console versions.
Sorry that I don't feel robbed for playing something I've been enjoying.
@colourful_hippie: I wish they had the Deus Ex (2000) Hong Kong theme music.
I wish. The music continues to be the biggest miss for me. The closest I heard something that meshed well with the ongoing action was during a flashback sequence around when you get the late title card.
@steveurkel: what are you playing this on? 4k resolution was the one thing that tanked frames for me to high 40s but 1440p with everything else maxed with DLSS worked wonders.
PSA: Turn off film grain, it's the worst in this when the game is in motion. Also turn off chromatic abberation which causes weird warping on some textures.
In true Cyberpunk 2077 fashion, some people in the comments here are tripping over themselves to be the biggest edgelord.
Anyways this sure is a buggy mess. I’m just glad this thing is more of an actual shooter than Deus Ex ever was. From what little I’ve played of it the music has been the biggest disappointment for me.
If Jeff is going to make the bad decision to watch Eva at least watch the relatively inoffensive versions that are the 1.11, 2.22, 3.33 movie remakes. They're slightly less dramatic teen angst, convoluted, but also incredibly animated.
....but more importantly please don't watch any Eva at all.
or if you do end up watching please document that very premium experience.
