The platinum designs always looked cheap, even for the PS1/2 games. It's probably intentional to give customers more incentive to buy nicely packaged games.
Time and weather can affect my immersion levels and while they won't ruin a game, if I play a game in the right environment I find the game to be much more immersive. For example, playing Silent Hill at night or Skyrim during the winter months.
EDIT: In fact, when the first Lost Planet came out, I used to turn off the heating in the house and open my windows wide during those winter months just to feel cold. Likewise, in the summer, I get tempted to play Red Dead Redemption and dehydrate myself a bit.
Surival horror games need to focus on tension. They can't go making combat fun and exciting like the new Resident Evil games or Dead Space 2, a survival horror game should put you off combat. I remember in the first Resident Evil trying to avoid the hallways with dogs and bracing myself whenever I heard a hunter's metallic nails clacking on the wooden floors because they were tough, you did not even have a machine gun so you could not just run forward spraying a hail of bullets at everything and needed to time your shots well. However, with Modern Warfare 3 being the biggest entertainment launch, it's clear people want action and sadly that means it is safer for developers to just focus on providing action.
It does apparently. I thought it bankrupt, but I don't know anybody who ever buys anything from that store.
In London they went out of business I thought, but moving to Northampton there's one here that gets a lot of activity. It would make sense for them to adopt some HD movie download service and modernise but they don't >_>
Since Infinity Ward can no longer stop this hacking problem I really think they should just unlock everything for everyone. Yeah, some people spent ages getting their fall camo but it's an old game now and will ensure people are on equal footing.
The story never was complex or deep in this series but having mercenaries vs military in Crysis 2 while aliens are invading just seemed too silly, like the human race needs to get it's priorities in order. And the basic plot details of the new game is yet more humans vs humans >_>
Humans are humans. Look out the window.
If you are referring to current conflicts it's caj, it's not like they are having to worry about alien invasions. :l

Werewolf. There is no aesthetic change once so ever if you become a vampire. Huge disappointment.
Yes there is. Your eyes change color (at least my Altmer's did) and the sun can burn and scar your skin.
Really? Well I hadn't noticed the eye color change, but seriously about the scaring? Sure I knew the sun burned you, but I didn't think the damage was permanent. That's bizarre.
Nevertheless, I was hoping for a change like the one you got in Oblivion. Angular bone structure, loss of color, and all. I found that much more interesting.
I got that, my character is a Nord. His eyes went a dark red, his skin went very pale and his cheekbones were more gaunt. I am guessing that maybe you had a glitch and saw no change to your character's appearance.
