I played this game as a kid, as a rental with no controller pak, so I was never able to save the game at all - I had to keep the console on from the moment I began the game. I somehow completed the game within the weekly rental period (maybe it was 2 weeks, we could have re-rented?), but I distinctly remember that after finishing the game, I was told there was an epilogue, or some sort of extra content, but I had to reset and reload my nonexistant savegame in order to access it. I was super disappointed then, and I honestly still am.
It didn't seem to come up here, but does anyone know what I'm talking about? Or have I just been making shit up in my head for 20 years?
Was it just hinting at extra content I could have accessed before the final boss? I know somebody recommended the dudes save up a bunch of money for the final dungeon, and in this video there was mention of spending it on something fun in the final shops, but it ultimately didn't happen.
Anyway this game has great music and is super weird and I love it.
