I tried it for a bit last night (about 1.5 hours). I had heard multiple people say it's not great solo, and they were right. I'll maybe give it another shot with some friends, but I was a bit underwhelmed. I'm sure there's some depth to the card system and it's nice that they've added a lot of new weapons and I like the shop idea. I'm just not sure if it's enough to keep me interested.

Of course that could just be the Game Pass talking. I don't think I would have bought this game without a group of friends that were also all in, but if I had I'd definitely be trying to get my money's worth out of it.

One that was a big bummer for me was Sable. I loved looking at pre-release screenshots and looked forward to it's release. The problem is when it's in motion, something in my eyes/brain just can't handle it and I get a bit nauseated. Into the Spiderverse does the same thing to me, which is another thing I wish I could enjoy more.

@bisonhero: I was just comparing those two games in my head yesterday when I caught wind of this update. I played Children of Morta at a Pax a couple years ago and fell in love with it. When it came out I played through it solo and again with my daughters. It was such a fun experience on so many levels. Then a month or two ago Hades came out on Game Pass and finally got around to playing it. I wondered why it didn't seem as great as I'd been led to believe. For me, the combat, roguelike storytelling and art were just not as appealing as I thought they would be. Then I remembered my experience with Children of Morta. I guess for me that was the one that did it better. I can absolutely see why everyone would be in love with Hades, it's a great game, it's just not the one I prefer.

I like being in on the conversation, but not the hype. It usually doesn't affect my purchasing decisions. In fact, I usually wait for sales and I find myself going back to old podcasts and forum posts when I play an older game to see what everyone said about it then. In some cases, it's even more enjoyable because of how the initial reception might be different than the way the game is viewed now (Bioshock Infinite, Shadow of Mordor, etc.)

Read the book in Italian first.

I was actually recently wondering this myself. Interested to see duders' thoughts.

@nodima: Assistant (to the) Manager

I can see a whole new tree of terms for different kinds of enemies. "Oh no, this one's a real Compliance Officer!", "Don't worry about this one, he's just the Committee Chair. Acts mean but no real power."
