I doubt the Virtual Console stuff will ever be shut down, since it would make way more sense to transfer all of that functionality to the WiiU and whatever other consoles they make in the future. They might update it and change it, but I think the only way it can disappear entirely is if Nintendo goes belly up, which most likely won't happen.

I am pretty sure that is what will happen. They will have DS games for the eShop of the 3DS and you could transfer your games over. I guess they will have the same transfer between Wii and WiiU and keep all the existing games up, VC and Wiiware and then add WiiUware and probably Gamecube games to VC. I wouldn't be concerned about it. I think Nintendo will get this right.

Having a gamer chick as a girlfriend would be cool.

I am not fussed that my partner doesn't care at all about games. It is my thing and she has her things. I wasn't a gamer when we met, it evolved later and she doesn't get my love of fishing or mountain hiking either, but it doesn't matter as there are so many other parts of our life where we do have a deep connection. I am kind of glad she doesn't want to play video games. Afterall, I don't share her love of reading fiction and she doesn't really want to share that one with me either.

The most important thing is that we both don't ever want to watch Titanic or Glee. I am cool with that.

I have been with my teenage sweetheart for quite a few years now. You just embrace that you are equals in a relationship. I wouldn't trade my relationship for anything, I have it too good. Anyone that puts up with a gamer is a keeper. Consequently I have never had a bad relationship, just the good one I have since childhood. I have certainly seen plenty of bad relationships and hope never to be single for the rest of my life.

Get a Wii and get Fire Emblem - both the Gamecube and Wii versions. They don't come any better.

I started with a Wii (Pal) on launch, then 2 years later I got a second Wii (NTSC), a year I got a 360 for JRPG and last I got a PS3 almost 2 years later (plus the 8 DS, 3DS (Pal), 3DS (NTSC) and 3 PSP, and the Vita is a lot of decent games away yet).

By far most of my time has been on the Wii, with about 160 games I own. Monster Hunter Tri and Fire Emblem soaked up about 300-400 hours alone, but there has been plenty of other great games. The 360 gets some play time, but could go months without being switched on, but still, I have about 90 games for it (JRPG like Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata, plus Forza got the most time). The PS3 has had very little use really. Aside from plenty of time with GT5 and FF XIII (I now have FF XII-2 to play a lot of), and a few other JRPG, the PS3 has been next to useless, but no regrets with a collection of about 30 games.

"America is not corrupt"

Everyone on this board is willing to sell their vote for a cheeseburger. This is either an awesome troll of a forum or a sad truth we all fail to see.

I don't think any of us are being that serious, including myself.

Remember that JFK quote from his inauguration speech. And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.

I wish we could all live by this, replacing America with whatever country you are from. The amount of negative energy plaguing our world saddens me. Think of what we could achieve with what we spend on war alone. I don't lump that on one group, it applies to nations and to terrorists. We need to focus on what we share in common with each other. I must be tired as I am getting quite melancholic.

I'd sell my vote for a chance to actually meet someone in the electoral college. Dudes are as shady as the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo and people who have Nielsen boxes in there homes, combined.

If you're implying members of the electoral college are extremely biased, they are, as by design. The winner the popular vote of a state chooses the electoral college members for said state, always someone that has pledged to cast their electoral vote for the winning candidate. Electoral college members can vote against the person they pledged for, or simply abstain, which does happen on rare occasions. However that hasn't effected the results of any elections to date.

I have to declare my complete lack of understanding of the electoral college system. It remains a mystery to me. Perhaps if I truly wanted to understand it, I would do the proper research - maybe one day.

I will never sell my vote. It 's okay if you choose not to vote but you have no right to complain.

I've never understood this sentiment. What exactly is the difference between someone who doesn't vote and someone who votes for the guy that loses? I see both of these men as having the right to complain if the President disappoints them.

Very true when viewed that way. Everyone is entitled to a view no matter what there circumstance.

I remember my protest days and how people percieve you. I protested regularly against bad laws aimed at refugees. As a test on several occassions, I spoke with an Irish accent, to see how the conversation differed from one with my native one. It always descended quickly into me not having a right to an opinion as I wasn't Australian and much abuse. My view has been that even if you have been here a short while, it didn't diminish your right to an opinion or that opinion being as valid as the next. Not the same thing, but similar in the narrative. Everyone is just searching for a way to gain some superiority in any argument.

The 360 is my point ..... you are right, most games aren't exclusive these days and it does kind of make owning both consoles a bit more difficult to justify (The Wii is completely different, as Nintendo have so many exclusive games the list could be extremely long depending on your tastes).

I only listed a subjective list of what mattered to me, which is why I could only hit 6 games. The other games already mentioned like LittleBigPlanet, Unchartered, God of War, Metal Gear Solid or Killzone just don't hold any appeal to me. I do think some people will just add games they like, as opposed to being really honest about games they must have - perhaps to justify their purchase, but again, this is purely personal taste and there is no such thing as a right or wrong answer.

What's the difference between a game I like and a game I want to play? Also if you're already going to frame the entire thing in the realm of the subjective, what's the point in trying to argue that people are not being "honest"? Though given your username, I guess you're just being true to it.

The difference is pretty simple I would have thought. I am talking about what you would consider AAA titles, the kind of games you are likely to buy early and at near full price. Other games are those you can wait for the inevitable price drop because although you know you will enjoy it, you are not that bothered if you never get around to it.

For me, a good JRPG is my AAA (such as a Tales or Gisgaea game) and a racing car game is something I can wait for (as it will get cheap quick and still be fun).
