When you think of video games you think of Mario, Sonic or Pac-man, but what about Peach, Amy and Ms. Pac-man? Girls are everywhere, whether to be the main character, to play some support on your mission or just to be sexy they make an important part in video games, so lets pay some tribute to them.  This list is all about the babes, from Ms. Pac-man to Lara Croft, going trough Nintendo princesses and much more...
This list is organized by Franchises and it's currently being updated, so don't get pissed if your favorite girl is not on the list yet.

  • The princess of the Legend of Zelda games. She appeared on most of the franchise games and she even appears on Super Smash Bros. Known from her many forms trough out the games, much like Link, she became one of the most famous characters of Nintendo

  • The Princess of the Mario Bros. games. She is Mario's love interest and most of the games starts with her being kidnapped. She is playable in most of the Mario Spin-off games and she even has her own video game, "Super Princess Peach"

  • The second princess of the Mario games and Luigi's love interest. She appears mostly on spin-offs, but she almost never plays an important role in games.

  • She is Toad female counter part, and she first appeared on Mario Kart: Doule Dash. Since then she appeared on multiple games on the gamecube, WII and DS.

  • Some people think that Mario was trying to rescue Peach in Donkey Kong, but that's not true, Pauline was the one who was kidnapped by Donkey Kong and she was the original Mario's girlfriend. She recently appeared on the Donkey Kong Vs Mario series

  • She is the sister of Crash Bandicoot and she is playable in some games, with is fellow tiger Pura

  • Nina is Neo Crotex niece and she's making problems to Crash since Crash Bandicoot Purple

  • Amy Rose is a pink hedgehog that felt in love with Sonic, she first appeared on Sonic CD

  • Blaze first appeared in Sonic Rush, she came from an alternate world, and when she catches the 7 sol emeralds she becomes Super Blaze.

  • Rouge made her debut on Sonic Adventure 2, at that time a villain, she served as a rival to Knuckles, after that she went to form Team Dark with Shadow and Omega in Sonic Heroes.

  • Tikal made her debut in Sonic Adventure, as a vital supporting character trough out the story giving us tips on what to do next and explaining the back story of the game. After that she pretty much disappeared.

  • Cream the Rabbit appeared in Sonic Advance and she became a recurring character ever since. She is also known as a potential love interest with Tails

  • She is one of the most famous FF characters, having appeared on FFVII, she is mostly famous for her death scene in the ending of the game. She appeared on all of the following games and movies based on FFVII

  • Tifa appeared in FFVII as a member of the avalanche team and as part of the romantic triangle between Cloud, her and Aerith.

  • Yuffie debuted in the famous FFVII as a secret character, since then her fan-base increased and she became a famous character in the franchise, she also appeared in Kingdom Hearts to help increase her popularity.

  • Yuna appeared on Final Fantasy X and X-2 being one of the main characters in the franchise, she is a sorcerer and she travels from land to land to defeat Sin.

  • Rikku is a character of FFX and FFX-2, she is one of the main characters of the second, with her team-mates Yuna and Lulu

  • Lulu first appeared in FFX as a black mage. She is one of the main characters and she plays an even more important role in the sequel FFX-2

  • Penelo first appeared on FFXII and she is an orphan. She joins Vaan in is quest to restore the Kingdom of Dalmasca.

  • Shiva is one of the few recurring characters in FF franchise, she first appeared in FFIII as a summon, and more recently in FFXIII as two sisters that transform into a motorcycle.

  • Kairi first appeared in the original Kingdom Hearts as the newest of the many princesses that needed to be rescued. But for some reason Kairi was different, she made people really want to rescue her.

  • Chun Li is one of the most famous characters of the fighting game Street Fighter, she as appeared in all games of the series since her debut and she even has a live action movie based on her.

  • She is also one of the most recognized characters of Street Fighter, she made her debut on Street Fighter II

  • A famous character of the Street Fighter franchise. She is mostly known for her cameo suit.

  • Sakura's fierce rival. Karin made her debut in Street Fighter Alpha 3

  • This emotionless assassin is one of Mr. Bison dolls and she first fought in Street Fighter Alpha 3

  • Yet another Street Fighter, this one is R.Mika and she also made her debut on Street Fighter Alpha 3. That game was full of beauties.

  • Ling Xiaoyu is a character from the famous fighting game Tekken. Her debut was on Tekken 3, appearing as Jin's class mate. She appeared on all of the following games.

  • Nina Williams is a character from Tekken. She is one of the few characters that appeared on all of the following games on the franchise and she ven as her own spin-off game called "Death by Degrees"

  • Anna debuted on the first Tekken as Nina's younger sister, and she's been in most of the games on the franchise

  • This brazilian girl first entered the Iron Fist Tournament in Tekken 4. She was taught by Eddie Gordo and she is a master of Capoiera.

  • The cousin of Jin Kazama she appeared on Tekken 5 and later on Tekken 6 to beat every one asses in the Iron Fist tournament.

  • Lili is a fighter in the Iron Fist tournament, her fist appearence was on Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection.

  • Julia started her career in Tekken 3. Daughter of Michelle Chang, Julia served as a replacement for her mother and she as been on Tekken games since then

  • Zafina is a guardian in the Tekken franchise, she appeared in the most recent iteration of the series, Tekken 6

  • She is the latest girl on the Tekken franchise. Although she is only a robot, she already conquered the heart of many fans.

  • Cortana appears on the Halo franchise as an electronic device that helps you trough out the game.

  • Lara Croft is the main character on the Tomb Raider series. She is mainly famous for being one of the most important sex symbols in the video game industry.

  • Ms. Pac-man is probably one of the first, if not the first, girl in video games. Although she started just a clone of pacman, she went to become a separated character in her own rights.

  • Misty is the water gym leader, and she uses only water type Pokemon. Made famous by her important role in the anime she went to become one of the most famous characters in the Pokemon franchise.

  • Dawn first appeared as the female character in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. If you chose to be a male character she will appear sometimes to battle or help you.

  • May is the female character in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. If you chose the male character she will appear sometimes to help advance trough the story.

  • Samus is the main character in the Metroid franchise. For a while people thought she was a man because of her suit. But later that was found to be false. And now Samus even appears with her new suit, Zero Suit, revealing all her beauty for the first time.

  • Roll first appeared in Mega Man, and she became a supporting character for many of the games to come, she is Mega Man's younger sister

  • Roll.EXE is and alternative form of Roll for the Battle Network series

  • She first appeared on Battle Network, and she is Roll.EXE's operator.

  • The main character in Resident Evil 1 and 3. She is the most important girl in survival horror genre

  • The main female character in RE2 she is though as Jill although not having such an important role in the series overall.

  • Yet another girl from RE games. This one is also though, sexy and bad. Who thought that we would find a beauty like this fighting zombies?

  • She's dead, but she still is the boss at home, making poor James Sunderland go to Silent Hill to find her in SH2

  • She is an representation of Mary, and she exists to drive James mad. She is also the final boss in one of the many endings in SH2

  • Heather is the main character is SH3. This 17 year old girl proves that girls can be courageous by facing the city of Silent Hill alone.

  • Sophitia is one of the fighters in Soul Blade and later Soul Calibur

  • Ivy was introduced in Soul Calibur as a playable fighter, she uses her poison whip to inflict pain in their victims

  • Seung first appeared on Soul Blade and she's been fighting in all the following games on the franchise.

  • This girl was a victim of Soul Blade and she started fighting in soul Calibur III

  • Amy started in Soul Calibur 2, this poor little girl became orphan and so she decided to revenge her parents death by fighting everyone!

  • Cassandra made her debut in Soul Calibur 2 and she's been on the series since then. She uses a shield and a small sword to fight against the forces of the Soul Edge

  • Mia Fey is the tutor of Phoenix Wright in PW: Ace Attorney. Although she eventually died, she kept helping Phoenix in spirit through out the series.

  • Maya is one of the most important characters in the Phoenix Wright series. She is the youngest sister of Mia Fey and she becomes Phoenix partner through out the series

  • Dahlia as her main role in Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations where she appears in the first and last case, as the main villain in the game. She was Phoenix ex-girlfriend.

  • Franziska is the Phoenix Wright rival in PH: Justice for All. She is a prosecutor and she is the daughter of Manfred Von Karma, that was put in jail thanks to Phoenix Wright in the first game.

  • Wendy Oldbag first appeared in the original Phoenix Wright game, and she became a recurring character through out the cases.

  • Lotta is similar to Wendy, she first appeared in the same case as the previous and she's also became a recurring character in the game

  • Ema made her appearance has Phoenix partner in the special chapter of the first game. She wasn't appeared since then

  • Trucy is Apollo partner, much like Maya was to Phoenix Wright, in the game Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. She is the adoptive daughter of Phoenix Wright

  • Nell started as your tutor in the game Advance Wars, and she went to do the same for it's direct sequel.

  • Sami is one of the strategists of orange star in the Advance Wars series, she's specialized in infantry

  • Rachel is the younger sister of Nell and she does the same thing her older sister did in the previous installments. Rachel appeared on Advance Wars: Dual Strike

  • Isabella appeared on AW: Days of Ruin with no memory whatsoever but she seemed to be extremely skilled, what's the secret behind this innocent looking girl?

  • Lin is the second-in-command of the Rubinelle Army in AW: Days of Ruin
