No, they used a form of humor that they used in all of their posts to their community in the announcement, which angered people that hate EGS and were never interested in the game anyway. Either way, it doesn't excuse the hate and threats they received from that audience.

You can definitely see the poor lives system in the Mario Galaxy games since she starts each episode with five lives instead of what she ends them with.
