To answer a question chat couldn't without me: The EXO request platform just shows outlines of resources it can accept, its just trying to prompt you that it wants compound or aluminium. Its not great UI design but its not a bug.
@benpack Its very funny to me that you whacked a mob boss in New Reno without even noticing. Roll the video to 1:47:00 and check the message window. You hitmaned him with your sticky fingers. Wasn't sure whether to tell you this or just wait for you to get back to New Reno but it could have been confusing if you had no idea it happened.
But I really do hope they try to figure out rovers soon.
They've long had the materials to make them, and they solve a lot of the problems they're trying to figure out roundabout solutions to, like portable power/oxygen and faster more efficient digging/collecting.
No they haven't.
Its only now with the chem lab setup they can make the materials for med rover. And brad hasn't had a chance to review the research and avaiable mats yet, if they've missed stuff I think its helpful to let them know, but they haven't had a chance to find it for themselves yet, I dunno about them but thats the kinda spoiler I wouldn't want to be getting when its for parts of the game I haven't had a chance to poke at myself yet.
@babyboy420: He does die a lot, but he tries to build a ramp, tries to build a beacon (it doesn't work through walls), tries to get aluminium. He just doesn't get anywhere before Brad finally gets the Oxygenator together, and Brad has played this game on and off for years. I like this game but without working tethers which they needed to find aluminium to get up and running you are very likely to die. I get that it can be a frustrating watch at times but I don't know what else Vinny could have done except being even more stubborn and focusing only on getting the tethers online before trying anything else.
I've enjoyed watching this series but this was legitimately one of the craziest things I've ever watched on this website. This is a monolith example of why communication and admitting you need help is so important. Also I guess they're super incapable of learning new information? Use/make landmarks? Idk but this was absolutely a test of patience. Holy shit.
They pretty quickly found each other on the surface by using the teleporter as a landmark. As someone who has gotten lost in astroneer caves while fully prepared and geared its confusing as hell to navigate underground. These are the mistakes you can make in these games and they got their stuff back in the end, spending an hour looking and finding your stuff is not the worst. Vinny also makes use of built landmarks in this and a lot of other games by building towers, you are a lot more limited in a dark cave with multiple obstructions to line of site, you can only really go by way-markers which the game gives you as tethers, they could have used them unpowered but if you lose the tether line in the dark thats not much help.
