@ripelivejam: A lot of people seem to really enjoy what Dan brings to Giant Bomb - I don't know why, but they do - and I've tried really hard but...there's just something about his personality that irritates the hell out of me. I'm not saying he's a horrible human being or I wish him ill, just that his antics aren't my cup of tea. As much as I love Vinny, I just can't seem to get past Dan.

Ugh. I guess it was too much to hope that maybe Dan actually was out of the office and I'd be able to listen to at least one episode of the Beastcast. *sigh* I really miss Vinny.

Jeff and/or Brad need to play this with Vinny and report back. Because if Vinny playing the game the way Vinny plays open world games can't make it fun then Ubisoft might as well go back and just patch out multiplayer.

Here's hoping Vivendi will be open to selling the Tom Clancy license to a company that might actually do some good with it.

I didn't especially care for the Ninja Gaiden series but love the Souls games, so I'm really on the fence with Nioh. And every time someone says they didn't care for the Souls games but they love this, I'm convinced I'll fucking hate it.

General Krusha might be the laziest Warhammer 40K Ork name ever.

The Taco Bell hat is complete bullshit.

1. Eating a hat shouldn't be a pleasant experience. If it's going to be an edible hat, it needs to be a food Dan doesn't like or, at the very least, has never eaten before. So, basically, anything other than Taco Bell.

2. When Kevin VanOrd had to eat a hat, not only did he make it his damn self, he wore it for more than 30 seconds. He wore it while playing some Ninja Gaiden, getting it nice and sweaty, really letting it absorb his juices. Now, granted, Dan's no Kevin VanOrd, not by a long shot, but I feel he should have to wear his hat during a best outta five Rocket League match.

With Dead Rising 1 & 2 you were guaranteed to start over at least a few times because you inevitably ran into a psychopath you needed a few attempts to figure out, you found yourself out of food/weapons at the wrong time and things went bad, or the timer screwed you and you couldn't get a "good" ending. So, yeah, leveling felt great because the bigger life bar, the larger inventory, the increased attack damage and movement speed - along with learning the world from replaying the first half of the game half a dozen times - made you steadily feel more and more like a badass. When you're at max level, rolling with an arsenal of ideal weapons, and you know how to handle yourself better the psychopaths become laughable, not unlike in Dead Rising 4. But it's earned. Like when I first fought Carlito, I found it frustrating and hectic trying to chase him down and shoot him while trying not to die. By the third or fourth time through, I'd found the katana, realized I could climb up there where he was and I had enough life to safely take a few shots in the face as I ran up on him and just hacked him down with five or six swipes.

In Dead Rising 4 leveling feels largely meaningless because it doesn't really make the difference between life and death. There is no timer, it's never hard to have good weapons on hand and the sorta-psychopaths go down easily from the very beginning. It's damn near a Dynasty Warriors game. Still kinda fun in that same mindless fashion, but really unsatisfying for a Dead Rising game.
