I hope it was a peaceful passing. Beyond that, the dude had a hell of a life, both in all he accomplished and the length of time he stuck around, so there's nothing to mourn there. Instead, I'll celebrate and remember with a 21 Marvel movie salute. (There have to be at least 21 Marvel movies out there at this point, right?)

Honestly, I thought the link was broken and I got one of those shitty 'own this address' pages or something. This design is fucking terrible, not to mention ugly as sin. It looks like fucking YouTube or something, what with the near total eradication of text and all the big, dumb baby-friendly pictures that just link to videos. I mean, I'm sorry, because I know someone probably worked hard on it, but...fucking hell. Could I get used to it in time? I'm sure I could. But it kinda makes me want to not visit the site, so I'll likely never give it that time.

I freely admit, I've never been the biggest fan of change. And Giant Bomb, for better or worse, has been going through a lot of changes lately. Not sure I can handle one more.

There was a time when I would've been up for anything Ridley Scott was directing. But that time has passed.

Was selling this announcement as a big deal a major miscalculation? Absolutely. But, in all fairness to Blizzard, who knew Moby was such a hardcore Diablo fan?

I'm pretty underwhelmed, but I can admit that my tastes were pretty limited when it came to games on the Playstation. That was back when I lived almost exclusively for RPGs and fighting games. So, yeah, not seeing more Squaresoft titles (Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, SaGa Frontier, Xenogears, or any Final Fantasy other than VII) or Suikoden II, or some of the more obscure titles, is definitely disappointing.

Stuff like Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Bushido Blade, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Silent Hill, Spyro, and Tony Hawk feel like glaring omissions. And not a single Crash Bandicoot? He was practically the mascot for the Playstation.

Also, if they couldn't include all three, I might've gone with Resident Evil 2 or 3 over the original. And I definitely would've preferred Twisted Metal 2 over any of the other games in that franchise on the PS1.

Of course, it doesn't help that they're putting only a mere 20 games on the thing. Double that number and it'd be a more robust catalog and a more compelling purchase. As it stands, I'm probably going to pass.

While I do really enjoy Abby on the BestCoast, the way she says "fucking nerds" seems harsh and makes me kind of twitch each and every time.

I don't listen to the Beastcast anymore, so I don't have the proper context, but I'm going to say that you put 'fucking' in front of anything and it sounds bad, even if you meant it to sound puckish, it kinda just makes you a come across like a hateful douchenozzle.

If you were hosting a dinner party and your significant other, who was responsible for the meal, asked, "Are any Jews coming?" While maybe not the best phrasing, you'd gather that they're probably concerned with whether or not the meal needs to be kosher. If, however, they asked, "Are any fucking Jews coming?" You probably want to punch that piece of shit in the head and rethink your relationship. Or if you were thinking of getting a new pet, and your significant other asks, "A kitten?" You'd be all, "We're so in sync!" But if they said, "A fucking kitten?" Again, you punch that piece of shit in the head and rethink your relationship. Point is, maybe it's not the term 'nerd' that bothers some people, but the 'fucking' bit that seems to imply at least some level of contempt, disdain, or intolerance.

Rockstar games have always controlled like janky, unrefined, sluggish, ill-conceived shit. Character movement, aiming/shooting, driving...none of it has ever felt good, and I doubt any of it ever will. Because Rockstar always gets a pass.

If I were a conspiracy nut, I'd swear they do it deliberately, because I have to spend several hours, non-stop, playing their fucking games in order to come to some sort of terms with how they handle, and then I have to force myself to not play anything but that game until I'm done with it, otherwise I slip back into remember how games should play, what smooth movement and shooting feel like, and it just pisses me off and frustrates me all over again when I go back to Rockstar's clunky shitpile nightmare. But when it comes to creating open world games, unfortunately, Rockstar is still top tier. And if you want to play in that world, you have to accept the garbage controls/handling.

If you care about being part of the zeitgeist, or just don't want anything spoiled for you, or if you care about online and being part of the community, you should probably just dive in and accept the fact that you might end up buying the game twice. If you're desperate to save $60 and/or feel confident you won't want to play through the game twice, then wait for PC.

SyFy Channel's "it resembles but is legally distinct from" Uncharted seemed like a lock.
