Rockstar games have always controlled like janky, unrefined, sluggish, ill-conceived shit. Character movement, aiming/shooting, driving...none of it has ever felt good, and I doubt any of it ever will. Because Rockstar always gets a pass.

If I were a conspiracy nut, I'd swear they do it deliberately, because I have to spend several hours, non-stop, playing their fucking games in order to come to some sort of terms with how they handle, and then I have to force myself to not play anything but that game until I'm done with it, otherwise I slip back into remember how games should play, what smooth movement and shooting feel like, and it just pisses me off and frustrates me all over again when I go back to Rockstar's clunky shitpile nightmare. But when it comes to creating open world games, unfortunately, Rockstar is still top tier. And if you want to play in that world, you have to accept the garbage controls/handling.

If you care about being part of the zeitgeist, or just don't want anything spoiled for you, or if you care about online and being part of the community, you should probably just dive in and accept the fact that you might end up buying the game twice. If you're desperate to save $60 and/or feel confident you won't want to play through the game twice, then wait for PC.

SyFy Channel's "it resembles but is legally distinct from" Uncharted seemed like a lock.

Not likely. I played the original card version fairly regularly way back in the day, but it was mostly for the social experience of hanging out with friends and chatting about books, video games, movies, music, science and tech stuff, work, etc. And I still have a metric buttload of cards, so going back to that is always an option. I just don't imagine there's going to be much of a social experience to an online CCG when playing with random strangers, since it'll likely be the typical online social experience: the majority of people mute themselves/everyone else and the ones that do talk you inevitably have to mute. It's a damn shame.

I recently got back into XCOM: Enemy Unknown, decided to finally go for the Platinum, so I've been playing a ton of that - and creating new swear words along the way.

I've got Zombie Driver from PS+ and thought I might start using that as a palate cleanser for those times when XCOM forces me to eat shit.

And I was thinking this might finally be the year I get back to the Dead Space games.

Not even a Patrick Stewart-led Star Trek can get me to subscribe to CBS All Access.

I don't love Giant Bomb the way I once did - similar to the way I don't love Gamespot the way I once did - but I love that they're still here. I mean, if possible, I'll follow Jeff, Vinny and Brad wherever events may take them, but the continuation of Giant Bomb...it just makes me happy. I love that there are (and will continue to be be) people who only just recently discovered the site and it is for them what it was for me. And I love the way the community pulls together every year for Extra Life - this really is just a baller community.

Most of all, though, I love the thought that whenever Elder Scrolls 6 finally releases, maybe I'll get to enjoy another 12-hour Greg Kasavin marathon brought to me courtesy of Giant Bomb.

Remember when Disney's movies were racist as fuck? Apparently Disney doesn't.

No. Ryan was TANG. I'm sure some video game movies might creep into Film & 40s - I'm actually amazed Dan hasn't insisted on them doing Doom - and that's fine, but even just the suggestion of rebooting TANG makes me want to punch someone. That's how offensive I find the idea.

If the argument for shutting down the comments section is that it's a potentially toxic environment, then they might as well do away with the forums too. People being people on the internet is always an environment for potential toxicity. And if someone really wants to comment on a piece of content but can't, because GB has closed that outlet, then that person will just start a forum thread instead, which leads to the same issue of toxicity until someone has to step in and lock that thread/delete comments. So, I don't see how closing one and not the other really solves a problem.
