I don't love Giant Bomb the way I once did - similar to the way I don't love Gamespot the way I once did - but I love that they're still here. I mean, if possible, I'll follow Jeff, Vinny and Brad wherever events may take them, but the continuation of Giant Bomb...it just makes me happy. I love that there are (and will continue to be be) people who only just recently discovered the site and it is for them what it was for me. And I love the way the community pulls together every year for Extra Life - this really is just a baller community.

Most of all, though, I love the thought that whenever Elder Scrolls 6 finally releases, maybe I'll get to enjoy another 12-hour Greg Kasavin marathon brought to me courtesy of Giant Bomb.

Remember when Disney's movies were racist as fuck? Apparently Disney doesn't.

No. Ryan was TANG. I'm sure some video game movies might creep into Film & 40s - I'm actually amazed Dan hasn't insisted on them doing Doom - and that's fine, but even just the suggestion of rebooting TANG makes me want to punch someone. That's how offensive I find the idea.

If the argument for shutting down the comments section is that it's a potentially toxic environment, then they might as well do away with the forums too. People being people on the internet is always an environment for potential toxicity. And if someone really wants to comment on a piece of content but can't, because GB has closed that outlet, then that person will just start a forum thread instead, which leads to the same issue of toxicity until someone has to step in and lock that thread/delete comments. So, I don't see how closing one and not the other really solves a problem.

Of "people I never knew personally, never even met, but whose death hit me so hard it left me profoundly shaken and brought me to tears" Ryan is still top of that list. I miss that dude so much.

I'd never buy one, but I piss away an excessive amount of money on my own brand of stupid shit, so I'm not about to judge.

Animal Crossing Royale (aka Tom Nook's Collection Day, aka Fuck You, Pay Me): 100 indebted mayors are thrown into Tom Nook's Debtors' Prison Thunderdome. Players have 30 minutes to collect, borrow, barter, steal and murder to acquire the necessary bells to make their payments. Instead of an enclosing Circle of Doom, there's just a giant clocktower in the center of the map that's visible from even the farthest edges, counting down to Collection Day. At First Bell, Nook appears to each player out of a puff of purple smoke and any player that doesn't have X amount of bells on them gets their fingers broken, causing severe crosshair sway and making item collection take longer. Second Bell, if you can't make your payment you get your kneecaps shattered, leaving you to crawl the rest of the game. Third Bell, Nook gets his money or you get your throat slit. Sometimes there are no winners.

If they had made this Bad Company 3 then the only complaint would've been, "Why can't I get a cosmetic skin to make this tank look like a solid gold monster truck?"

Nope. The campaign - and Spec Ops, until Activision completely abandoned the mode for whatever asinine reason - was my entire interest in the Call of Duty franchise, especially Black Ops. I had some fun with Nazi Zombies and even briefly enjoyed the zombie stuff in Black Ops I, but never really considered it a selling point. And I just outright don't give a fuck about multiplayer. Across the nearly dozen Call of Duties games I've played, I doubt I've played more than thirty matches of competitive multiplayer in total. Just never enjoyed it. So, without a campaign, there's nothing there for me.

Though, to be fair, I never paid $60 for any Call of Duty game. I don't think I ever paid more than $25, because the campaign was really the thing I was interested in and, even when they're good, they're still only, at best, 8-hour campaigns. So, I was never really Activision's target market and, as such, can't really be all that upset about getting shafted.

The only movie I found so unbearable that I left an actual theater was The Last of the Mohicans.

Crap movies I stopped watching partway through at home via rental, Netflix, etc.? I've lost track. Though, I can say it's mostly happened during the last 5-6 years.
