Burnout Paradise is one of the best games I've ever played. There's nothing better than turning it on and just driving.

This, and similarly, the Skate series. Any game you can just hang out in is a cool time.
Earthbound similarly makes me feel good because the world is so weird and well-realized.

@akyho: Yep to this! I've sort of settled somewhere in the middle for now. It's just annoying to know that I went way overboard in telling people, but I guess that's how I figured it out.

My big secret for years and years was that I thought I was transgendered. I came out to everyone last month and have suddenly realized that I'm probably not. So now not only do I have no secrets, but those secrets were wrong!

@joey: I'm still waiting for my copy of the game, but if you send me screenshots I'd be happy to overlay translations!

I don't get the praise, either. It's a bunch of unnecessary sexualization and a story that basically just amounts to a dude going through puberty, but handled in a way that I found extremely hamfisted.
I have friends who gush over how it moved them and still does, but they watched it when they were young teens, so I kinda just chalk that wholly up to nostalgia.

Did not enjoy.

Fuck. I'm moving countries soon and was hoping to have it on the Vita since I won't be able to take my PS3 over straight away. Oh well, better to steer clear.

I kinda want to pick up the Vita version of the Ratchet and Clank Collection but word around the internet is that it's riddled with bugs, namely crashes in 2 and a myriad of small issues pertaining to framerate and controls throughout. However, I can only find information from the time of this port's release, so I have no idea if this has been patched out by now. Any word on this? Should I bother picking up a copy?

I don't have that many, but I guess the biggest one is that I've never finished a JRPG outside of Pokemon. I got really close in FFIX but I lost my save. I've played half of Earthbound about three times and got about 3/4 through Mario RPG on an emulator before I actually bought the cart and had to start over. It's tough now especially because I play all my games in Japanese.

I really like The Insert Credit Podcast. Tim Rogers, Frank Cifaldi and Brandon Sheffield are all hilarious and super informed about what cool game design is. The format was very different and interesting until recently when they switched it up and made it a little bit more generic. I recommend starting at the beginning.
