Goddamn! If I had money right now I'd be going. Will have to see how my balance shapes up later in the week. Mentioned it to Rob?

My sanity is temporarily preserved. Now to try and friendly fire him as often as possible.

LITTLE BIG PLANET!

Though from your own suggestions I order them as:

Uncharted (1 and 2)
Infamous
Heavy Rain

I don't feel I need to justify the order of these first three, they're all great and that's simply the order in which I personally rank them

Something else
God of War III (this is a straight slash lots of enemies with rather similar weapons and platform around. I find all the story driven aspects to be sideshows rather than main attractions though I did enjoy playing it.)
I feel it fair to note that I have played several God of War "clones" or "rip-offs" and quite simply found them to be more fun than GOW3 itself. Personally I really enjoyed Heavenly Sword though many may consider that blasphemy. And then there's Darksiders which I know isn't an exclusive but it is proven to run better on a ps3 and is just fun.

Other things I would recommend:

Modnation Racers (if you like kart racing games only I suppose, but for that purpose it is unbeatable)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (way too much cut-scene but once you've got past that the game itself is rather good)

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot Flower even though it's already been said. I feel I've betrayed myself. Flower is the most beautiful and relaxing game that I have ever played and yet it is so simple, a definite must for any PS3 owner.

Dammit, I've just borrowed Killzone 2 from a friend and now I know I'm going to be playing another asshat in a game.

Also, Zeke shouldn't have bloody survived infamous let alone being allowed to tag along in a sequel, I would have killed him myself given the opportunity.
Shepard would make a great martyr as said before.
(I thought master chief did die? misinterpretation on my part?)
And NOT KLEINER! Take Magnusson, that smug prick needs to be taken down some notches, and if they choose to take those notches out of his skull I'm happy with that.

On a similar vein, why were so many people annoyed when the kid from vault 101 died? I mean yeah, no more playing on that save, but really... I think it added to the weight of the situation and storyline nicely.

piracy isn't ok in any circumstances. but you should note that in many cases it is acceptable to acquire industry standard software free of charge so long as you do not publish any of your work. or alternatively buy a license before publication of necessary work. also need to be careful to note that anything you create within a university on the software that they have paid for technically belongs to them and can't be published without their permission. other items such as music, films and games: that's somebody else's work and they deserve to be paid for what they have created. sure many companies take the piss with how much they charge and the profit margins but in the long run a little bit still reaches the "small people" behind the work (not pixies, but that would be cool).

hit
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ and
http://www.scan.co.uk/
for lists of what seems appropriate to your needs and price accordingly. There are other good places to look for components too but these have served me best and their prices fluctuate between which is better for what items.

(anyone tell me why the hell this automatically put line breaks in before my links?)

Bioware has certainly impressed me a great deal but I'd still probably go back to my bethesda classics for another run before I replay mass effect. (though I haven't played dragon age at all, perhaps it could sway me, who knows)

These powers are all way too useful.
I'd like the power to make anyone burst out in uncontrollable laughter with a specific facial expression. Absolutely useless for personal gain but could be used to immobilise people whilst I sidle away from awkward situations :D
Also, to make it more interesting, it would apply to anyone who saw the face at that time, not just the person I intended to use it on, so innocent people would be thrust into fits of giggles while I was trying to get out of someone else's way, undoubtedly pissing them off at their inability to control themselves thus making me lots of enemies and forcing me to use the face more often until the point where I'm constantly wearing the face and people can't be near me for fear of suffering asphyxiation or pulling a muscle in their ribs.

Naturally it would have to be my sex face that caused this to happen ^_^

I will almost always finish the story at least once if I've gone to the effort of actually buying a game. But in terms of fulfilling lots of extra side missions and collectables; that's considerably less frequent unless I really enjoy the game.
